Did you Yanks just watch AJ destroy Bakhtov? Yet you rate Wilder?

Wlad daren't get angry because that might lead to him actually being aggressive instead of hiding from actually being involved in a fight. Last time that happened Cory Sanders ruthlessly exposed him!

Yeah, I don't get it.:huh Knowledgeable American fight fans are completely aware that Wilder is a total fraud and joke. In fact, most of us are looking forward to the day when his glass jaw gets exposed.:yep

The dark side of British enthusiasm for their boxers is that when one of their athletes has a bad run they seem to **** on him worse than anyone else. Look at how many Brits talked **** on Hatton after his losses. And the Prince, and Khan, and Audley... well, Audley kind of deserves it I guess but you know.

If I were Joshua and I lost I'd never watch any TV news or broadsheets again because of all the shitting on me that would inevitably occur.

"Ay lookit thet lad he's come back down to earth"

I'm guessing the Aussies inherited their "tall poppy syndrome" from the mother country.

If you are not in the US, you would have no idea but boxing has been so completely out of favor and ignored that even the broadest sport fans (and the US straight out loves sports) would only know FMJ, Pac, and maybe BHOP. You could talk to a hundred thousand sport fans and they'd have no idea who Wilder or even Ward is for that matter. Almost no one would have any idea who Klitschko is either. Since Tyson and to a small extent LL, boxing (with the exception of FMJ) has dropped off the map completely. The most knowledgeable is actually going to be Hispanic-Americans or Latino-Americans as they still have an interest in fighters of that background or ethnicity. I don't know who you favor (didn't check your posts) but as you mention Joshua, there were only two fighters from the UK (LL and RH) that the most ardent boxing fan in America would know or remember. That's it - no one else.

So, your post has to be for the American posters on ESB as they are not remotely close to typical US sport fans who don't follow the sport at all and thus don't care. For them to pay attention Joshua is going to have to turn into Lennox or Tyson and become a killer. Even the Klitschkos completely failed to garner sufficient respect as to their athletic talent to generate any interest or buzz. If you see an American poster on ESB raving about the Klitschkos he must be white and especially sympathetic to Eastern European heritage (maybe that is their own heritage), because most sport fans and young athletes in America just never saw anything remotely extraordinary there.

If Joshua can walk the walk then that is a good thing because America doesn't hate boxing - it is just sending its own best athletes in a different direction for a long, long time. The US will watch anyone that is great and can bring speed, power, aggression, and produce devastation. Does not matter what country it comes from - the US digs quality entertainment. It won't watch or follow mediocre or ordinary athleticism which is why out of such a large country you know the names of a bunch of terrible US boxers and a few decent ones while most American sport fans have never ever even heard of any of these guys. Kids here know all kinds of college athletes but wouldn't have a clue who was Jennings, Cunningham, Wilder, Thompson, Ward, Dirrell, Quillen, Taylor, Kirkland, Bradley, Berto, Maglinaggi, Porter, Peterson, Broner, etc. Boxing gets almost zero play. Been that way for a long time.

Joshua would destroy Wilder right now. Joshua has had a very legit first nine fight whereas Wilder is not facing anyone any better after 31. That is, unless you include Scott who fell down for no reason in the second fight in a row.
