For me, it was only the second time i saw him REALLY wanting to win against Calzaghe. During the 8th he was trailing badly, but came out and really gave his best, as much as there was left. The only time i saw him do that was during the first fight against Tarver.

I thought it was a bit sad to see him getting beat so bad, with that big cut, but as a fighter, he showed qualities we rarely saw before.

it was pretty horrible to watch. joe acted like a ***** with all his showboating, roy was certainly talking a lot, i suppose there was some karma going on in there but still it wasn't nice to watch. proud of roy though the way he kept at it.

there is something rather sadistic about calzaghe. i'll probably look at the lacy fight in a different light now.

For a guy who is 3-4 over the last 4 years, getting knocked cold twice and with wins over mediocre competition I hear he did pretty well.

Especially when you realize that he was so bored with the sport that he actually thought he could become a point guard five years ago.

Down, definitely down. He once again entered the ring with absolutely no intention of winning. The man was so scared to take a risk that Joe would literally put his face directly in front of Roy, unguarded, literally inches away from Roy's gloves (repeatedly) and basically dare Roy to hit it and Roy would not even attempt due to his lack of heart and a will to win (someone please explain to me how that is Roy exhibiting a will to win). Once that goes you gotta get outta the game and it was evident that that went several fights ago with Roy. I don't mind boxers losing, I just mind when they lose while never making any attempt to win. That there is larceny and you just stuck up all of your fans. There's no shame in getting carried out on one's back.

But I knew this going into the fight so it came as no surprise. Roy just fulfilled prophecy, that's all, and collected a handsome paycheck in the process while swindling his entire fan base.

I think Calzaghe pulled off the bigger swindle selling this as a meaningful fight.
