Hes been backtracking since Ward and Canelo became viable opponents.

Floyd is still the biggest name in boxing and Floyd vs Golovkin is the biggest fight in boxing

While Canelo has problem to make 154 or even 155 himself already

No, I think ggg should move on to greener pastures like Ward did.

...and Ward asked for Mayweather at 160...round and round we go! :grouphug

Also, I believe the 154-168 comment was when GGG was trying to score a PPV fight with Mayweather, JCC Jr, or Froch. He was willing to step outside his weight class for those kind of big exposure fights at that time.

When looking to fight outside your weight class, obviously risk/reward matters for everyone but when you're defending a title against your mandatory the risk/reward shouldn't have a place in the equation. If GGG were to defend a SMW title against a mandatory at a catchweight people would go ape****.

If Ward wanted that fight, he should have started negotiations pushing the weight up by making some concessions like venue, purse, etc.

He doesn't want to fight Golovkin which is why he waited until the PPV announcement to make his "offer".

:patsch Canelo hasn't fought at the 154 limit since 2 years but his body isn't ready for 160 ?

    come on it's getting ridiculous

maybe every big fighter should demand an own special catchweight for his fights

Maybe every HW should have fought Valuev @ the 310 lb limit

I'm sure he would be able to outjab all the sumos

Or Haye should have demand a catchweight of 200 lb for all his HW fights
