ggg asking for a 164 catch for ward was k2/gggs surefire way to assure ward said no...while looking like they tried/wanted the fight.....it was obvious ward would never take that and thats what ggg wanted "well we tried...were moving on...we want to unify...quack quack"

If the belt is 160 then it must be defended at 160

look i don't care if Cotto prefers to fight @157 or 155 or whatever but if his opponent whoever it is isn't allowed to weigh max 160 at the weigh in, it shouldn't be allowed to fight for a middlweight belt.

I find it hard to believe that having just signed a three fight deal with HBO at LHW, that Ward was planning on waiting a year for GGG to fight next fall at SMW (I believe the offer was to fight in the fall of 2017).

It could easily be said Ward was blowing smoke, knowing full well that he can't even make 168 comfortably anymore, and knowing that GGG would not accept a 50/50 split at 168. If GGG did offer 164 that is dumb, but his team was probably flying high with his first PPV coming up and thinking he could then secure the Cotto/Canelo winner next year. Plus who knows what "terms and conditions" that were sent by Ward's people.

Going on and on speculating about these offers that we really know barely any details about is stupid. Using these rumors as leverage in Internet arguments about the fighters is even dumber.
