no i agree with you. floyd's talked a big game for a long time and if he can't step up for a pac fight then he deserves to get canned
you answered indirectly. i think floyd wins at any weight too, but that is not the point. as to how the weight would have affected jmm or both him and floyd, i don't know for certain. claiming jmm's performance did not in the slightest get affected due to the sudden increase in weight is far from being objective.
jmm is great, floyd is better. floyd would beat him at any weight. floyd didnt really have any business facing him at 146/144 I think floyd knew that and actually went easy on him
I mean if floyd wins at any weight than the weight issue is a non factor. No matter what weight JMM would never get more than 4 rounds in the bank against floyd. Not that there is anything wrong with that.... styles make fights
Whaaat!? This fight could have been fought with both guys fighting at 140, the out come would have been the same.. Floyd did little to take advantage of his supposed size advantage against marquez.. Floyd did not try over power marguez, nor did he try to push marquez around using his size, floyd has been and alway will be a finesse skilled fighter, like marquez rarely does he depend on his physical attributes. when will you people give the man credit he knows how to fight. The floyd that took apart Gatti at 140 would have done the same to marquez, floyd is just a better technical fighter, size does not improve your skill.. If your skill suck they suck no matter what weight you are at, getting bigger is not going to improve your skills. so enough with the BS that size won Floyd the fight with Marquez because of weight, even if they were in the same weigh class Floyd would still win.
Now people know why ESB/The World hates "*****s".... Because of threads like this. Has absolutely NOTHING to do w/Mayweather. (Poor Floyd has to pay for their stupidity)
Honestly, from at least my perspective, I think Marquez is overrated in the skill department, but he does have quick hands, throws crisp combinations, and is tough as hell. And Mayweather made it look easy. There is no doubt that Mayweather is leagues above Marquez, and easily the best in the sport. The only guy that comes close to his skill level is Martinez, but Martinez likes to mix it up more, so he's obviously going to be more prone to getting hit. Even though Floyd should be the favorite in my eyes against Pac, he did talk all that ****, so he needs to make the fight.
hmm says . . . didn't PBF also say he'll finish off JMM if he knocked him down? but instead took it to 12 rounds hehe . . just adding fuel to the fire
If JMM had the luxury of atleast weighing close to Floyd without being blown up, i'm sure those shots he connected would've changed the rhythm of the fight. If you cant hurt your opponent, you're not taking away his confidence. Floyd was smiling after every good shot JMM connected. If that didnt mean anything, then i suppose JMM is feather-fisted.
I think Mayweather was happy to get the rounds under his belt after such a long lay off because I don't remember any round where he attempted to get Marquez out of there, despite the gulf in ability on the night.
i remember floyd saying he tried knocking out jmm but couldn't because jmm was one tough customer. i don't have any links though.
Like I said, I don't remember any round where I thought Mayweather attempted to take him out, if anything he slowed the tempo down as the fight went on rather than upping it to try and finish him off. If Mayweather did try to knock him out it didn't show in his actions, I find he usually runs down his opponents too much before the fight and over praises them after the fight which is why I find it hard to judge what he says in those circumstances.
Over rated !!!!???? Are you insane !??!?! The man has the ability to fight hurt and still throw accurate punches and win the round.. Fighter that can keep their head during a **** storm in the ring is rare, fighters that are capable of fighting back and looking good at is almost totally non existent.. The man was dropped by two of the best p4p fighter today and was able to getup and finish a great fight,, any other fighter that has been drop by floyd or pac normally do not make it out of the round. Marquez skills overrated ??!!! WTF!!!
You are a moron if you believe any of that ****. Mayweather proved that he was on another level from Marquez technically, he never bullied him around, he completely out-skilled him... FMJ is the most complete fighter in the world, the current Pacquiao is the only other fighter that comes remotely close.
