It's ignorant. I'm not suggesting this at all, but you could truly make several weight classes over 200 (240,247,254,etc).

I love how people have just taken it upon theirselves to make up Mayweather's fight night weight just so they can try and make him out to be this huge fighter.

How can you deny Mayweather being much bigger than Marquez.. I don't think that's even debatable.

If he wasn't a natural welter then he would have made the contracted weight.. Right or right.. I'm not saying Mayweather fits in with the likes of Williams, Marg, or Clottey at welter.. but he is as much a welter as Marquez is a lightweight..

I agree that Mayweather was bigger, but so what he's fought bigger guys b4. I'm just people were trying to make up all these huge fight night weight numbers when Mayweather has never been the kind of fighter to blow up after the weigh in. I've even seen him weigh less on fight night then he weighed at the weigh in.

I LOVE JMM, I respect all he is, all he's accomplished, and I acknowledge his greatness. He isn't as good as PBF in any way, shape, form, or fashion. I don't care what weight they fight at, it really doesn't matter, he's got nothing for PBF.

Maybe floyds playing chicken to give pac confidence but like i said before it would be best for pacquiao to avoid mayweather altogether.Mayweather will frustrate pac with his defense once pac starts to come forward to try to get floyd to open up he will be eating counters worse than he did against marquez.Floyd by UD very easily.Pac throws some of his punches off balance, you dont think mayweathers gonna exploit that???Floyd by schooling.

Mayweather was significantly longer than Marquez, not only that, Marquez own trainer voiced his concerns about Marquez's speed prior to the fight, as he felt the weight had effected his speed, and if you watch the fight, you can see why he said that, as Marquez, unlike Pac, looked fleshy the way Barrera & Morales look at the higher weights.

Mayweather took full advantage with his reach by pecking, pocking at Marquez from the periphery of the killzone, he was able to do this because he is considerably longer, as Marquez needs to draw you into mid range to get his counters off, not only that, but the extra power will have had an effect on Marquez's output, as when someone gets your respect, your more inclined to think about what you throw, when you throw it, hence the reason, size makes a huge difference in fights, provided!!, you know how to maximize it.

Mayweather is way faster than Marquez at any weight. Look Marquez is great fighter, but no one expected him to win and first place and therefore the excuses aren't really needed. Mayweather is just a better fighter.

Many great fighters have fought bigger fighters but a great little man can beat a good big man... The difference comes when you have two great fighters who perfect their craft in different weight ranges, so size will always play a big role in these matchups..

Just like i can't see Pac beating Martinez, no way I could have seen Floyd beating Hops at 160 during his reign...

    Size matters..

Even if you think Mayweather beats JMM at any weight, it doesnt doesnt mean he is greater. Styles make fights. Its easy to say Floyd is the better fighter and I know thats the popular opinion, but Marquez has overcome a lot more in the ring and shown that he is a warrior who can box and bang, get off the floor to win. Floyd is more talented. But I see Marquez as a greater champion. Its all about how you define greatness.
