Yea i didn't understand that. Golovkin wasn't knocked down or anything. Can someone explain how that works in the amateurs?

If Golovkin starts to promote welfare payments, his haters would become his biggest fans.

    Oops.

If I remember correctly. Bute wasn't KOed either. He got caught by a right hand and went down. He was back up at the count of 2 but the ref waved it off anyway.

Now everybody thinks he was KTFO by GGG.

    :patsch

    This post is ignorant.

Haters of Golovkin are no different than haters of any other fighter. No need to stereotype.

Check out part 2. GGG flattens him with a right and when Bute stumbled to his feet the ref had no choice but to stop it. Total KO

Amateur fights are always stopped when a fighter is stumbled, lots of standing 8 counts are from nothing more than a clean shot landing..

Let's remember that this is the amateurs. It isn't a 12 round fight where you can "invest" in a body attack that pays major dividends in the later rounds. Having said that lucien bute used to be a beast, and I remember at the start if the super 6 many claimed he was the best 168er in the world.

This should of be the end of this thread.

FWIW Lara GGG might look similar from the opening exchanges to the final result.

Bute looked like a beast, Golovkin nothing special. I still think Bute is underrated now because of the Froch fight but he fought then injured. While GGG doesn't look so much improved but protected.

Bute is under rated because of Froch, but GGG is protected when K2 aggressively went after a Froch fight??

Hmm, maybe K2 paid Froch a few million under the table to just retire to continue their grand protection scheme...? I wonder how much it cost K2 to get Sturm, Geale, Martinez, Cotto, Floyd, Chavez Jr., Froch, Ward, Canelo and Saunders to pretend to duck or be unavailable AND keep their mouths shut about the super secret protection arrangement???
