Didn't realize how banged up Louis was after Galento

I knew it was Charles, from the physique more than anything.

Who are the other two though ?

 

Omelio Agramonte and Cesar Brion.

Tony Galento was short, too; he was like 5'9" tops! It's amazing that the great Louis could be dropped and hurt by a short, pudgy brawler.

I've never seen Agramonte before. I'd pictured him as a white guy, a light hispanic. But I've seen pictures of Bivins so I dont know why I thought it might be him, Bivins doesn't look like that !

 

Especially with those small gloves they had.

 

I thought Charles wore black trunks with white trim in that fight.

He looked fine when interviewed by the press after the fight. By next morning he seems to have swolen up a tad though. Suspect that it never really came home untill the next day.

Going into that fight Louis had won his last three fights inside the first round and nobody expected Galento to break the chain. Those three first round knockouts included two former world champions. One boxing columnist predicted that Louis would kill Galento literaly not metaphoricaly.

Galento was a tough and punishing fighter. At no point in that fight did Louis look comfortable. He gave Galento his beating but he knew he had been in a fight afterwards.

 

Maybe his wife has some weird fetish where she beats him up during sex.

.... or beats him up after he's had sex with other women. Frying pan in the face as he's sleeping off a night's work with a couple of groupies !
