i didn't see the fight tonite, but in the first fight it looked like Vazquez was the physically stronger, but Rafa's jab took over...i just wanna know if Vazquez overpowered Rafa tonite, or was he just sharper than last time?

Yes pretty much. Both came very prepared but Vazquez came in even more prepared and landed his left hook solidly on Marquez's chin.

Israel countered when Rafa threw his left hook and the knock down resulted from Rafa lowering his right hand and Israel took advantage of that mistake. It was not one sided by any means, Rafa was also doing an extraordinary job giving Israel cuts on both eyes, it was just that mistake from Rafa that gave him so much trouble.

Very good fight, do watch it.

Vasquez dominated Marquez similiarily to how Marquez dominated Vasquez in the first fight.

I knew my boy Izzy would show up in this fight and not give Marquez any room to breathe with constant pressure.

Let em finish this great trilogy

What a wonderful, wonderful fight. Beautiful. This was a true championship fight. This is how championship fights should look. Two skilled guys throwing legitimately hard properly thrown crisp punches, working the body and head, staying in range, not grabbing, keeping a good pace, both showing their stuff and giving it their all. These guys both deserve a bonus. This is the type of fight that is worth recording and keeping for the archives.

I too felt the referee jumped in a bit too soon, but it wasn't a horrid stoppage. Things were not looking good for Marquez, whose defense was simply not good enough tonight. He needed to keep his right hand up more, use his outside boxing a bit more. Vazquez is a pretty good finisher, as seen in a number of his championship fights.

Marquez had the better workrate and landed more, but Vazquez was the physically stronger guy, with a tad better chin and stronger punches. But Marquez's punches were very solid and crisp as well. Vazquez has heavier hands though and the more solid looking body. Rafael is quicker and sharper and busier and needs to use that on the outside more next time, with a bit more head movement and right hand up.

I would definitely like to see a rubber match, but don't think it should take place too soon or else it might get ruined by a premature stoppage. All these cuts they suffered tonight are going to need a long time to heal.

Vasquez was an animal. Kept smothering Rafa. Wasnt giving him any room to get his offense off. And he rocked him badly in the third. Rounds 4,5,6 were all Vasquez.

I expect Vasquez to KO Marquez even quicked in the rubbermatch.

Both fought beautifully, staggered each other a few times, the first few rounds I was worried because it appeared Marquez might actually be the physically stronger tonight, but Vaz quickly turned it around and never let go of the reigns, carrying his momentum over three or four rounds and pouncing whenever he smelled blood.

Vazquez is the stronger guy, Marquez is the more skilled (slightly) IMO.

Marquez really needs to keep his left hook in the holster against Vasquez.

I think both are great fighters, only difference is Marquez is 32 and Vasquez is 29.
