What Chaves was doing is called lacing and it's something Lennox Lewis and alot of other guys have done. Lennox did it against Vitali while "jabbing" to rip his cut open more and it's no more dirty than Floyd's elbows or the headbutts of Holyfield, Hopkins or Ward. The fact that Chaves hasn't training this technique so that it can be seamlessly incorporated into his arsenal makes it less dirty than the above mentioned who clearly spent time training those techniques so they are disguised within other movements making it more difficult to spot. Keep it consistent. Salido punches Lomachenko in the balls 40 times and he's applauded as an old pro welcoming an amateur to prizefighting, Mares does it to Agbeko and it's universally condemned. If B-Hop did it people would be laughing and complimenting the old man on how tricky and what a veteran he is.
Lot's of people are giving Salido, Ward and Hop **** for their dirty tactics. But as GGG says this is baxin. What about the DDT though? That looked like a special move.
Ya that was ridiculous the whole fight was a farce but people saying he needs to be suspended for a year and stuff like that need to calm down. I still can't read unfortunately
Nah... most here see the thread title and think "WTF is lacing?!". See no mention of glass jaws, Pac/Floyd/GGG/Wlad or any other big names in the thread title and move on to the next one. They never know what they just missed out on.
Why do posters generalize and go completely ham overboard to try and make a point? Salido was given massive **** for his performance. Bhop has many anti fans due to his in ring tactics.
He was eye gouging kid. Lacing is common but so is eye gouging. If it was lacing you wouldn't mistaken it for eye gouging and you'd see abrasions around the eye.....you wouldn't have complaints about eye gouging you'd have complaints about lacing.
