12 rounds for the WBO Lightweight championship. Corrales 135 lbs. Saddler 131 lbs. 24 hour weigh in. Corrales states at the weigh in, "I'll give him a war." Saddler would take Corrales at 130, I believe...but what about 135? Does Corrales have too much of a size advantage at the weight?
Saddler would knock the hell of Corrales. I just don't see Corrales standing up to the body assualt he'd recieve. Casamayor knocked Corrales on his ass a couple of times and split his mouth open. Saddler may not have been a natural lightweight, but he would carry enough power up with him to give Corrales trouble. I also don't like Corrales' style in general here. He likes a shootout and that spells disaster.
Saddler. Corrales had a very mediocre chin, only saved in part by his superhuman will and toughness. Saddler breaks him down.
Saddler imo, just see a breaking down and stoppage at some point, at 130 would this be more fair? Or is the consensus that Corrales' body was more matured at 135? He might be big for Sandy there though, still see Saddler taking it
Saddler had a ATG chin which is unspoken of most of the time. Moving up wouldn't be much of an issue for him, considering he was one of the few lanky tall fighters with a great chin.
This is laughable that everyone's picking Sadler your comparing a featherweight (former bantamweight) that likes to brawl to a Welterweight brawling banger, who destroyed anyone he could land on. Yes COrrales came into the ring at 147 because of weight draining. Now anyone that actually boxes knows what the size and power difference will make in the ring when 2 world class fighters meet Corrales by KO in a war around 6-7rounds his size and power makes him the winner as they would both exchange and Corrales was just deadly at 130 and 135 for that matter
