Prime Diego Corrales vs. Prime Alexis Arguello These guys are about the same height, and fought most of their boxing careers at around lightweight. Who would win between them at their primes? Please vote on the poll, it's a one heck of a battle!
At 12 or 15 rounds? I think the chin alone gives Alexis the win. Arguello broke down his opponents mentally and physically and his quicker lazer like punches would put Corrales down for a KD and then a TKO at around 10 or so.
Arguello by late-round TKO. Heart, courage, determination and power just the same. But Arguello would have an advantage on every other category. superior punching accuracy, chin, and the mechanics. Corrales will make it a fight and Arguello will have several uncomfortable moments. Expect Corrales to touch the floor probably more times than he did PBF and will be rescued by the ref because he is taking too much punishment.
Freitas would've destroyed Corrales if he only had Arguello's chin!!! Arguello by brutal body shot that may have punctured Chico's lung.
