Ramirez fought Chavez , Camacho , Whitaker*2 , Rosario*2 , Juan Martin Coggi , Alexis Arguello , Ray Mancini , all in their primes .
And Corrales ? got in a shot against d already proven 2b stoppable Castillo after saving himself by repeatedly spitting his mouthpiece and for this he will always b compared 2d greats . Stopped by Castillo himself , Casamayor and Mayweather , that really equates Ramirez' ability .

Does any1 know if Ramirez' 2nd rd tko vs Olivares was a true stoppage loss or a result of a cut / some other **** ?

    Body shot.

Ramirez' only KO lost, and was very young when he got stop by Ruben. JLR would go on to face monster punchers in Rosario, Arguello, and Chavez and go the distance with them (TD loss to JCC, 12UD loss and a KO4 victory against Chapo, and according to many, a deserved win against Alexis), so you could say he had a granite chin, plus a hard puncher himself, i would say he'd stop Chico inside 10 rounds.

I think the similar opponent to Corrales that Ramirez faced was Arguello, albeit more skilled but similar qualities and Ramirez outsped and outboxed him for periods. Corrales most similar opponent to Ramirez was Casamayor, I think Casa is trickier but around the same level as Ramirez. Casa in turn outboxed him Corrales periods. Corrales won a close controversial decision in the rematch, which was a good performance

Ramirez would win the early rounds but Corrales like Arguello would come on late as the pace slowed timing and landing his bigger punches. Ramrez likely wins a competitive decision but let's not forget how brutal a puncher Corrales was, devastating at 130 and the brutal come from behind stoppages of Freitas and Castillo. Corrales would actually stand a better chance in a 15rounder

Good 2 know , legit stoppage , unless it was a low blow or a foul assisted body shot , need 2c 2 know 4 sure , especially since it took less than 2 rds .
Ramirez was a pro 4 5 years by that time , inexperienced @ top level , but not as much as his 20 yrs of age might make it look on paper .

As much as i think Arguello is overrated it is a disgrace 2 assume Corrales could do something because Arguello could .
Also , Ramirez deserved d decision over Arguello .

especially if he enjoys those breaks and extra flow of air he grants himself by repeatedly spitting d mouthpiece .
But then in a 2nd thought maybe still not .

To be fair unlike Castillo, Ramirez can pressure and step around and pop as well (Arguello) so Teeto, I don't think it's out of the ordinary to pick Ramirez here, a man who beat Arguello pretty clearly and also dealt with very hard puncher Rosario.

got to go with ramirez probably by pts but corrales could be put down and might well go down at some point in this fight and as hard as corrales punches i cant see him halting ramirez. quite possibly a great fight

Corrales was a hard puncher, but if the likes of Rosario and Arguello couldn't stop Ramirez, i give Corrales zero chance of doing it...Plus Ramirez being much more durable, and a very hard puncher himself...It all equals a Ramirez stoppage win for me.
