Casamayor looked god-awful in his gift against Santa Cruz. I do think he was better against Katsidis and Marquez after that one, but Casamayor clearly was miles from his best.

Corrales would've definitely fared better than Katsidis against Marquez and probably beaten him. Marquez has been more vulnerable at 135 and nearly every fight is a tough one. It's a result of moving up in weight, diminished defensive reflexes, and simply getting up there in years. Corrales was huge for 130/135 and probably stops him.

Katsidis wouldn't have beaten Freitas and would've gotten beaten much more comprehensively by Castillo than Corrales would've if Chico had been stopped in that 10th.

Corrales was far better than Katsidis.

A "shot" 35 yr old Casa beat Chico the fight before, giving away 4 pounds in the process.

JMM made it to the final bell against Floyd, yet Floyd was able to turn a huge 130 Chico into a human yo-yo.

And the same goes for Norton and Frazier beating Ali, giving Ali hell in later fights, and Foreman treating Norton and Frazier like ragdolls. Foreman couldn't beat Ali though. Morales fared better against Pacquiao and Junior Jones than Barrera did, but Barrera got the better of Morales in 3 fights. Kelly Pavlik fared much better than Bernard Hopkins did against Jermain Taylor, but Kelly won maybe one round against B-Hop.

Common opponents can only prove so much. Different fights, different styles, different circumstances.

Marquez is definitely the better/greater fighter than Corrales, but the style matchup is a really rough one for Marquez. Marquez was older with diminished defensive reflexes by the time he went to 135, and against a big man with quick, heavy hands. If Marquez does win, he's most likely going to go through more hell than he did with Katsidis. Marquez is really far better than the guys who have been giving up rough fights at 135. But age coupled with the move up in weight has made those fights more competitive.

Katsidis makes fun fights, but is just inferior to Chico in just about every area of boxing.

Thready, what you say is correct - styles make fights, and I don't see how Casa can be used as an example to show that Kats is of an inferior level when Chico got done by Casa not long before. If Casa was shot for Kats then he was no less shot for Chico.

Don't get me wrong, I liked watching Chico fight but could also recognise his flaws. It seems many can't.

So far Chico has real wins over Manfredy & Freitas. Doesn't really establish him as a cert over Kats.

A year before, and so the **** what? Casa was old and declines come fast, when they come.

Basically, it's like this: If you watch, with your own eyes, Corrales and Casamayor fights, and then you watch Katsidis fights, and you still think they're on the same level - then you just don't know what you're watching. You don't know enough about boxing to tell the difference.

People are going to pick Corrales just because he is dead.

    Chico TKO 5 :D

Also because he was a MUCH harder puncher, with a much better defense and quicker hands, and the superior inside fighter.

Since you're the ****ing expert, go back and watch Casa/Chico III and Casa/Kats and tell me where Casa has declined.

Katsidis has flaws. He's a one handed fighter but is yet to be blown away by any of the top level guys.

Chico got hit and dropped plenty with left hooks. I've no doubt Kats would've landed enough of them to make it an interesting fight.
