Navarro scored two knockdowns in the 1st. He's putting in work, throwing loaded-up punches in bunches and dominating Gutierrez but getting a little sloppy at times. Questionable punch selection in his combinations, leading with left upper-hooks and then sweeping a right hand before pulling the left back into guarding position, leaving himself wide open, banking on Gutierrez being too scared to engage with more than an odd counter slap here and there.

    40-33 Navarro.

Gutierrez was tough and gutsy throughout, eating shots and sprinkling in his own where he could, finding Navarro with straight rights and uppers but not making a dent, and doing plenty of light body-dusting while flopped in close.

Navarro scored one more big knockdown late in the 4th with a hook-&-cross launching from a corner.

All three judges have it 40-33 Navarro, who is now 2-0 (1). Gutierrez falls to 0-1 in his pro debut.

Robert Garcia is talking up Navarro's power. Work in progress. (defense needs some plugging up)

    Round 1

Gramajo is stalking, nudging away Rodriguez's southpaw jab with his left glove. Gramajo tries a short hook at the ribs but Rodriguez quickly hops away, bouncing off the ropes and moving in a diagonal past Gramajo. Double right jab by Rodriguez, lunging from outside while holding most of his frame back on the safety of the outside. Gramajo is squaring up, measuring Rodriguez for body shots, using lots of feints but not throwing. Rodriguez dances along the ropes and throws pot shot counter right jabs while sprinting away from them, resetting in the middle of the ring until Gramajo walks him down again. Feinted looping right by Gramajo has Rodriguez on the run.

    10-9 Gramajo, very uneventful

    Round 2

Gramajo is lathering up his work rate, scoring hard body shots. Rodriguez is backed into the ropes. Big uppercuts and overhands by Gramajo. Rodriguez survives by dancing around the full ring. Gramajo settles down and reverts to stalking mode. Light jabs by Rodriguez jumping laterally and then diving in to hold. Gramajo is shoving off and prodding the jab into the side of Rodriguez's skull while staying in range with patient, steady, medium-paced footwork.

    10-9 Gramajo

    20-18 Gramajo
