...and now, DDLH vs. Roman has gone from third-billed on a triple-header all the way to main event, with Dorticos vs. Gassiev spun off to a separate card and Caballero vs. Guevara now canceled. (Randy injured his ankle)

 

Pablo Cesar Cano vs. Juan Carlos Abreu added as co-feature.

Doesn't quite make up for losing the other two parts of the original triple-header, but still makes it a better card than it would've been with DDLH-Roman and no real support.

 

DDLH returns tomorrow night on some channel named "Estrella TV".

I don't get Estrella TV, in New England on Comcast. :exmad

This is the only Friday night boxing this week, too.

 

The opponent is Jesus "Estrella" (no relation to the station ) Ruiz, who recently challenged Leo Santa Cruz for the WBC 122lb title...much to everybody's chagrin. Still, a decent opponent for someone at DDLH's level even though he wasn't a thrilling choice for an LSC title defense. Ruiz has some passing fair names on his resume (Leo Miranda, Luis Melendez, Julio Ler)

Nobody has ever taken Ruiz out fast (LSC recorded the par time, in the 8th, after hurling the kitchen sink at him) so if DDLH manages to blitz him early...well, then, statement made.

 

Rey Vargas and DDLH in the same weekend??! Neither taking an especially soft touch??!

...yet people are still blathering about Mayweather vs. Berto & Cotto vs. Canelo?

Fools! They can enjoy "going out" and "having fun" on Labor Day Weekend.
