If Crawford was from Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit...etc would it be easier to market him?

Immensely. Which is unfortunate for him. But there's also plenty he could do to market himself better that he doesn't do -- at least not effectively -- and I think it's likely his own choices and behavior limit his popularity more than his hometown.

Mayweather could have been from Romania and still marketed himself successfully.

But Omaha just doesn't have the same culture of struggle as Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland....etc

Omaha is boring, so maybe that’s why Crawford is also boring (personality wise)

It doesnt make a difference in this era you would be surprised the places fighters are from it isnt where they are from or fight out of it is the marketing and the reason he left Arum...his marketing wasnt great and it kept him just outside the money fights with the top fighters. Vicious Victor Ortiz is from Garden City Ks he was marketed well and he relocated to California....Crawford will leave Omaha if he feels it would benefit him

Location does not really matter that much, Ali was from Louisville.

But when you think of Omaha, you don't think of toughness. That's the point.

That is your point which is a moot point....its what the fighter does in the ring and how he is marketed if it was such a major issue Bob Arum and his team would have relocated him

This. Floyd was from Grand Rapids, Roy Jones was from Pensacola, Deontay Wilder is from Tuscaloosa. Doesn’t matter where you’re from it’s how you market yourself and your performance in the ring. Danny Jacobs is from Brooklyn, Tim Bradley is from California and neither guy could have sellouts let alone sell PPVs..

I don’t think anyone cares. No one out there was about to order his last fight on PPV then cancelled after they found out he was from Omaha
