The difference is, I wanted Floyd to keep fighting even after dominating a P4P champ in Hatton. Calzaghe's fans want him to retire after beating a shot Roy Jones.

As a very proud Joy Boy, I would love to see Paulie Malignaggi beat Hatton up and down the ring in their fight. Now I hate the little guido more then i hate Vicky "I cant stop crying" Fatton. But it would be good for boxing if Paulie beat Hatton. I would also love to see Pacman, however unlikely drop the Golden Boy "I feel very strong" "I pack quite a wallop" Oscar De La Hoya with a vicious body shot, and have him rolling around in agony around the ring like against Hopkins.

This would most assuredly bring Floyd out of retirement.

Now the impression from Calzaghe fans is that, they hope that Dawson breaks his back in training, hopefully Spinal like Mike Tyson, or Hopkins cleans out the rest of the light heavyweight division for them, beating all of the threats to Calzaghe, so their jesus can retire undefeated.

    Am I right?

I love Oscar but he's so damn jive. Did you see the preview of his 24/7?

He's in the ring training and just busts out "I feel very strong" :rofl

If you can read the inital post and not think the poster is a biased idiot, then you are a larger idiot. And my bet is that you picked Jones Jr. over Calzaghe. 'Joy Boy'...lmfao.

there is a big diiference in age though.

mayweather was 30 when he hung up his gloves

calzaghe will be 37 if he ever fights again.

and if you look at history 37 is old for a fighter and 99.9% of boxers who ever lived are in big decline at that age .

I say **** the age, look at their accomplishments. People often judge Mayweather based on his last couple of fights but he accomplished way way more in the previous years. He had a better career at 30 than Calzaghe at 37 and has just as good a right to retire.

Not that I wouldn't like to see Floyd return, his fights are a joy to watch because of his pure skill.

    i never mentioned accomplishment.
    just age.

over the years 99% of top boxers have gone on just a little to long.

i have nothing against mayweather retiring , if his body is hurting and he has loads of money, he does not need to fight on.

calzaghe is in the same boat as well and my point was he is at an age where sometimes you get in the ring and you simply do not have it anymore.
