I dont think that's a fair request. You're basically saying that unless an Asian or European fighter have been granted a request to have a purse bid moved up, that Povetkin shouldn't even try. But what if no Asian or Euro fighter has made such a request? And again, not only hasn't Povetkin made such a request, I don't recall him even complaining about the situation.

They offered 10 mil euros before Perez fight. Why would they hesitate now, because Wilder looked so good against Molina?

Il take that as an admission of defeat, WBC favour fighters from the Americas , I asked you for an example of when the moves up purse bids for a fight not from the Americas you can't

Why are you talking as you know for a fact that Povetkin's side has done exactly nothing about it?

They were expecting the fight to happen in late 2015, but WBC has granted Wilder another optional defense.

Don't spin the story and make it look like Povetkin actually wanted Wilder fight to happen later rather than sooner.

Klitschko himself said that his team tried to make WBC unification this year but couldn't because of "boxing politics".

Before that, Wilder was mysteriously put in a WBC final-eliminator with Scott who wasn't even rated anywhere near the top.

    The situation is pretty obvious.

Wilder's entire relationship with the WBC has been at best, suspicious. 1. With his resume of soft touches how was he allowed to fight in a WBC title eliminator. 2. His opponent Malik Scott was knocked out and won over a journey man in his previous two fights before the eliminator. How was he allowed to fight in a title eliminator. 3. The fight itself- many feel it was not on the level. I myself am suspicious of that bout. 4. He becomes Stiverne's mandatory a position where the champion gets the lions share if the purse, however after not one but two extensions granted by the WBC, Wilder not only is able to avoid a purse bid but gets the larger share of the purse. 5. After becoming champion Wilder has one year to face his mandatory. Which is in the rules, however in the interm, somehow Eric Molina cracks the top 15 in the WBC rankings a totally unqualified challenger that never defeated anyone of note and was ko'd in one round twice, once to Arreola who was in turn defeated twice by Stiverne. 6. After this farce of a title challenge, Wilder uses the time left to remain busy and instead of using the opportunity to move up his mandatory (his most lucrative opponent btw save Wlad) is now searching for another opponent. Wilder claims he wishes to fight the best but the names being mentioned most commonly as an opponent are Hughie Fury and Andrey Wawrzyk two fighters that are not rated by reputable publications in the top 40. And more importantly are not rated in the WBC's top 15 which in violation of their rules Wilder should be stripped if he elects to fight them.
That is an awful lot of smoke of corruption for one fighter in a very short period of time.

May I add to the above post that Stiverne who as champion facing a mandatory somehow received less of the purse was a Don King fighter and somehow King who has very few fighters left in his stable somehow also promoted Eric Molina.
    Cronyism?

It's not my intention to spin it that Povetkin wants the fight later. My point is that he doesn't seem to care. And if he doesn't care, then why are the fans so critical of Wilder? What's the big difference if the fight happens in late 2015 or early 2016?

I didn't say they were hesitant, I said that it doesn't seem to make much of a difference to them that the fight is slated for early 2016. If it does matter than I would expect them to do something about it. Now if there is any evidence that they do have an issue with the fight happening in early 2016, then I'd love to see it. I haven't seen them complain about it though which is by I'm confused about why people are upset with Wilder.

The time wouldn't really matter for me if Wilder fought decent contenders in his voluntary defences like Jennings or Takam, but Molina and Wawrzyk are type of fighters that should be fed to up coming prospects. They're pethatic as title challengers. Btw I'd pick Wilder over Takam and give him the edge over Jennings.

Ok, so then it seems like the real issue isn't that Wilder isn't fighting Povetkin this year but that he isn't fighting a worthy challenger in his next fight. Is that accurate?
