Whyte is looking into other opponents meantime while pov is out. Chisora likely candidate but let's say ortiz accepts to fight whyte. Who would win?
I can't help but feel that Ortiz is too old and was nothing too his special in his prime, unfortunate that the only times he stepped up he lost, no different than Pulev except that he has a worse resume, worse amateur pedigree, and lost to worse opponents.
Ortiz’s legs haven’t been any good for several years, but if Whyte underestimates Ortiz anything is possible.
with his plodding style, non-existent defense and tendency to freeze when hurt i think there is a high posibility that even shot ortiz could land a devastating counter on whyte and the fight.
Would be great to see ortiz back at a good level. He fought well against wilder...wilder was just a bad style match up for him. I think he,d beat whyte. If your aggresive against ortiz he,ll make you pay for it. Wilder got away with it because he lowered his punch output and tried not to exchange. Wilders movement imo,s actually pretty good he uses his length well...its just a case of getting the opponent following him and eventually he,ll get you. But if you dont have that ortiz could be a nightmare for most of them imo.
Ortiz is older than my nan , and probably much slower, but he still has the power and skills to knock melonhead out. It's a fight i'd like to see.
If Ortiz allows himself to get hit anywhere he did against Hammer then I predict and early to mid round KO win for Whyte.
What happens if Whyte loses to someone else other than Povetkin? Will Povetkin still have to rematch Whyte?
Would do similar ppv to Povetkin so makes sense if Povetkin is out. Ortiz still holds some marquee appeal, unlike the names around him in rankings. I would expect Whyte to grind out a points win.
Whyte shouldn't be operating at this level even against aging fighters. Ortiz will hurt him badly. Hearn should make Whyte v Bakole. a good fight between 2 fringe top 20 contenders.
