Yeah I understand, what I was trying to say was there are some boxers who can instinctively change and adapt through the rounds and some that seem to have to wait until their corner tell them to change before they do and that can take time for them to adjust by which time it may be too late. Joshua doesn't seem to me atm as someone who has the instinct to make his own decisions. That may just because he is really still a little green and inexperienced at top level, but as i said, it will be very interesting to watch over the next few years.
It's funny because I actually prefer Haye mark 2. I think he has a lot more power. I think he shows far better core strength which will give him better ability to use that power and take a shot. I think his legs look really strong. He may not be as quick but he is still one of if not the quickest out there. I like what I see tbh.
He looks more powerful true but his explosiveness was what stood out for me before, this Haye I think would lose to the talented tall HW as his ability to get inside suddenly was one of his biggest assets along with his power. If thats gone then what makes him special now? coz all the top guys have power.
I think Whyte is stylistically better for Ortiz I think Jennings style is actually quite bad for Ortiz but Jennings tried to box with ortiz which is never gunna work. I think to beat Ortiz you have to sit on his chest and make him work for every minute of the round if you give him space things won't turn out well for you.
I spoke to Julias Francis today who said he bumped into Whyte today. He said Whyte said him v Chisorsa early 2017
Who you guys got for that fight? I don't rate either men it will be a scruffy fight, I give whyte the edge because of his youth I'll say Whyte decision.
I would have to favour Whyte but only marginally. Like you said a messy fight. Certainly Chisora has gone down hill last few years but after what has been said between them there will be plenty of genuine needle.
Chisora was absolutely woeful against Pulev, he looks shot but the Buchanan and Lewison fights exposed whytes true level which is British/euro level.
Whyte was being built up as a big puncher and the last few fights make that seem a little premature. So it opens up a few more questions......is Whyte really a big puncher? How good is AJs chin really?
Whyte is challenging anybody if it means he get a few hits on his social media pages and it keeps his name in front and center.. Must be closet mates with Haye or went to the same media school...
I think whyte has good power it's just it won't be as effective at the top level kinda like Joseph Parker. I think the shot he caught AJ with was the type of shot that would hurt most people because Aj didn't see it coming at all. With that being said I could see a situation where AJ could be knocked by a big puncher.
Whyte was signed for this very reason I suspect, to take on the biggest threat to their blue chip fighter, especially when that threat is very real and from a relatively unknown name. I feel Whyte is there to bring Ortiz to the attention of the casuals, to build Ortiz's name and any potential fight with AJ, and also to check how good he is when matched up with a boxer AJ beat, a kind of risk assessment really. I think this fight gets made.
