Forgot to mention that. Also Chisora was badly robbed vs Whyte. Everybody who doesn't believe me: Rewatch the fight and score it. Chisora won! I will write some decent stuff about Whytes resume later today. Have to sleep now.
You realise Pulev is one of the most shameless duckers of the last decade right? The guy is completely overrated and most probably shot to boot. I can't believe he is even being given another chance to become mando after his disgraceful showing as number 1 contender. Now couldn't care less about Whyte but not sure why you seem to be gassed up on Pulev. It's arguably even more inexplicable than your man crush on crossfit champ CEJ.
Who did Pulev duck? Not AJ he was clearly injured. Pulev has a strong resume and convincingly beat Chisora who gave Whyte a hell of a beating? Pulev is a stylistic nightmare for Whyte, jab and grab, game over. I was telling you this guy was all bark no bite and was going to duck Pulev? Low and behold he does and suddenly I am in the wrong? I think Ortiz can do a job but if Whyte makes it out of the 1st half of the fight than I favour Whyte by sheer endurance. Pulev has a bit more endurance in him and gone the distance numerous times.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Whyte beat Pulev. He's the most overrated contender of this generation. He beat a disinterested Chisora who clearly couldn't give a ****. So what? He was offered numerous top tier fights and didn't want to know. He took the path of least resistance and then tried to long that out for as long as possible claiming he needed six months to prepare for Joshua despite not being injured at the time and then had the cheek to say everyone should wait around for him. I for one was thoroughly unsurprised when he pulled out. He'd been trying to put the fight off from the outset.
I think the Cuban grandpa lays out most of the top ten if he fights how he did pre-brutal KO. Joshua is the only one you'd really make an overwhelming favourite to beat him. Parker has a good chance as does Povetkin but he'd be odds on to beat the rest. *Need to see Fury fight someone with an actual pulse before I'd pick him over anyone ranked.
Confirmed Dillian Whyte is a pure coward https://www.boxingnews24.com/2018/06/kubrat-the-cobra-pulev-comments-on-whytes-pullout/
It has to make dollars if its going to make sense. Whyte isnt going to take a massive pay cut to fight on the promotion of some dodgy Bulgarians, away from home, in a fight no one gives a damn about. Tried to reason with Haymon and Pulevs team for months, nothing. In 48 hours alone Whyte and Parkers team put this fight together. Both get a huge payday, fight in the UK, and its a great fight between 2 in their prime superstars. Ortiz and Pulev can have sour grapes all they want, fact of the matter is they arent the A side, their on the downslide and if they still havent figured that out yet they will retire broke. Whyte vs Parker is the much better fight. Let Ortiz fight Molina and Pulev vs Dimintrenko, see if they can make 100K between them.
I don' think Pulev will retire broke, Bulgaria is a very cheap country to live in, what Pulev makes goes a lot further in Bulgaria than in the UK or US. Plus his wife a popular singer in Bulgaria, they are pretty much set for life if they've not blown it on a lavish lifestyle. Pulev's comparative comfortable life maybe why he seems to have lost a lot of his hunger. But you hit the nail on the head. Fact money talks in this game, Parker probably has the highest profile in the UK of a non Brit heavyweight not called Wilder so this fight makes more money pure and simple. It's a PPV fight which Pulev and Ortiz would not have been. UK casual fans image of Ortiz is the guy who struggled with Scott and Allen and who just got KO'ed by Wilder. Casuals will just see it like another Browne fight because of his age. Fact is Ortiz is not a draw and brings no value to the card. As for Pulev yes Whyte chose to not fight him, but so did Breazeale and Miller when they were ordered by the IBF to fight an eliminator with him. Is there any heavyweight on this planet that would fight Pulev for 25% of the purse split? Fact is he isn't a draw and because of the IBF rules whoever fights him in this eliminator will make peanuts. Hearn tried to change that and appealed to the IBF, they said no, so Hearn went another direction that would earn him and his fighter much more money.
Yeah, that is my point. Essentially these young superstars are making big bucks, fighting at home, fighting regularly, building a profile and fanbase, networking online, running their business... then all of a sudden, they are expected to fight for peanuts, in Eastern Europe, with a dodge city promotional outfit, against a 37 year old whose best days are well behind him, who in the past pulls out of fights. Why bother?!?! The fans, media market and money are in the UK. No disrespect to either Pulev or Ortiz, but no one cares how much they cry about not being the A-side, get over it, if they done a deal like Parker did to fight in big fights the UK, three times now, and worked with Matchroom instead of foolishly trying to put the squeeze on them, they would be multi-millionaires lining up for the big fights like 26 year old Parker is already. Any complaining is just crocodile tears on their behalf for their own stupidity.
Yes, it was clearly a duck. I hope Parker knocks him out, but he might get cheated in the UK as the referee, boxing commission, judges will all be on Whyte's side..................
