Were refusing to show "the results" of this medical thing up until right before the press conference (Koogan interviewed him prior). Any movement on that in this press conference?

I have no problem with him getting the title shot , it’s the sleazy way they screwed Wallin over that I have a problem with.

How many uncontroversial wins (not Chisora x2, Parker, Rivas) over live bodies (not Povetkin, Browne) has Whyte had? Whyte's best win (Helenius UD) got KO'd by two Wilder victims (Duhaupas, Washington) his second best (Wach UD) was outboxed by a post-Wilder Szpilka and Wilder has only lost to the best, not a prospect or a shot 41 year old at home.

Hearn is clearly a master of his craft. Even going into the trilogy, Wilder was regarded by the bookies as a live dog (5/2) against Fury, Whyte is regarded as a much easier, lower risk fight (9/2). If Whyte genuinely had the better body of work this would not be the case.

What do you mean? How many uncontroversial fights does Canelo have? If you remove his controversial wins, suddenly his best win is a shot to pieces Kovalev or Billy Joe Saunders, both past their best.
Difference is Whyte best both Rivas, Parker and Chisora 2.
He lost thr first Chisora fight in my eyes

Canelo is overrated, I agree. His best career performances are being competitive with Golovkin, Whyte's are being competitive with Chisora and Parker. But if there had been a different ref/judges in any of these fights, results could have easily gone the other way. Wilder hasn't needed to rely on dubious officiating to win (though the doctor intervention in Ortiz 1 was distasteful) because he's stopped everyone he fought aside from Fury and dominated Stiverne in his only decision win. With his wins, Wilder clearly distinguished himself from his best opponents while Whyte didn't and Wilder has beaten the best opponent of the two in Ortiz, without losing to anyone he was heavily favoured to beat. Whyte is more dangerous than Chisora and Parker on account of his greater range and power (and aggression/determination over Parker) but they are all very much on the same level.

NEETzschean back at it again with the pointless boneheaded boxing math to prop up Wilders resume.

The fundamental question is, would he beat himself?

Would be a really exciting back and forth fight I think. Tons of spearing jabs blasting through each others' high guards, heavy body shots and vicious hook exchanges that come within a whisker of knocking either Whyte out. The Whyte who wins is the one who manages to make it rougher in the trenches, but honestly would not be surprised to see a double knockout from two windup hooks on the inside that neither man sees coming.

If the maths were sound I'd be more inclined to debate with him. But it's just a smokescreen for his biases, which is disappointing in a man who doesn't strike me as an idiot by any means.

That would be hard to verify.

Especially considering his shoulder injury, whatever happened there.

I didn't watch the press conference, I won't watch the press conference.

Whyte is 33 years old, 34 in 6 months. He has never won a European title, never even fought for one, never won a world title and never fought for one.

Yet he believes he needs to call a press conference, not to announce a fight, not to promote a fight but to discuss an injury and have a chat.

Seriously, just have a day off, Whyte isn't that big, he isn't that famous, he isn't that heavyweight.

Yep but there is no one good at Wilder resume, this is the thing. And this is boxing, just x or y guy beat z or c guy faster, doesnt mean a thing, you should have known that. The best fight for Fury currently is Whyte and he deserved his shot.

Povetkin iced his sorry ass the first fight. He then beat a shot, post COVID Povetkin so thats 1-1. Parker could have gone either way. He was essentially ko'd in the last rd. He beat Helenius during the latters injury spell. Chisora never beat a top contender and is essentially a gate keeper.

Suppose this is just damage control given the way this "injury" occured..

Would be better off just saying they pulled out because they want to be ready for Fury next.

I wonder if it was Fury he was facing now would he have pulled out??
