Chagaev is skilled and awkward southpaw. Even he is old and fat, I would favor him to win by points over Whyte. Whats your thoughts?
Depends on where the fight would happen. But i agree, Chagaev should have the edge here, prime Chagaev would probably TKO/KO Whyte.
The version that fought Browne wins by UD or late stoppage. Any other version of pre-Browne/Oquendo Chagaev completely obliterates Whyte.
If Chagaev is in shape, and age has not gotten to him, he will beat Whyte, the younger version would have knocked Whyte out, no doubt!!!
Yeh it was only Lucas power that got the job done there, he was struggling. Whyte aint got that sort of power. Chag Ud
Whyte is not as good as he thinks he is. Prime Helenius has him out early too, like when he had him hurt, that would've been followed by a stoppage if Helenius was in better nick or younger
Browne is also old and probably by the sounds of it coming in fat, big letdown, although he doesn't fight at chisoras pace, he could fight at more leisurely pace and keep his big bomb power for later on and he will take whytes head off if he catches him with that right.
Browne don't look like he belongs in the ring anymore, more like a field fighting other hardmen for money. Tough man with a dig, but he looks way out of shape agreed
Beats the shot version that lost to Browne. Loses badly to the Chagaev who was actually worth his weight in the division.
Against the version that fought Browne, Whyte could out work him to win a decision but he'd be in real danger of being KO'ed while trying to do that. An out of shape Chisora had him on the brink and Chagaev can't be any worse than a faded, fat Chisora. Prime Chagaev of course KO's him. Whyte simply isn't that good.
For all the excess fat in his later years, Chagaev was an excellent technical boxer and a crafty Southpaw. Prime Chagaev schools Whyte, old Chagaev vs prime Whyte would be a close one. Old Chagaev would probably go after Whyte a lot more than he did Browne. Let's not forget, Browne did well against Chagaev, but Chagaev was well ahead on points, Browne beat him with his awesome power, something Whyte doesn't have.
