I recall Nigel Benn saying in recent times he learned more in a few weeks with a trainer in Australia as an old man than he did from all the trainers in his career combined.

sounds like his enormous ego got in the way when younger.

No, British trainers were limited pre-Booth.

Nigel Benn also said that he was now in the best shape of his life, far fitter than he was as an actual fighter before his body broke down in sparring. He also said that Conor Benn was more talented than him.

Based on the top trumps way of rating boxers where George groves
is more “talented” than Carl Froch but loses 100 times out of 100 to him: or where Antony Joshua is more “talented” than an obese little grinning Mexican fella but quits against him once then runs like a scared rabbit to win the rematch.

Benn was my favourite fighter growing up but yea he was a world level boxer and with that comes a world level ego which inevitablely will spout nonsense from time to time

Joe G probably a better shout than Shane, imo. But he's have to come up to Manchester, who h I can't see Whyte doing. And tbf if he's willing to come to manc then Peter fury is an even better choice for a HW. But I can't see Whyte gelling with Peter lol

I just remembered than Johnathan Banks ran Whyte's corner for the AJ fight. If the Povetkin fight goes ahead I think there's a good chance we'll see Banks training Whyte for the remainder of his camp.

6 weeks out, I don’t think Whyte looks particularly trim (considering he’s been in Portugal for months and has had a full camp). I’d like to know if Povetkin has been able to train as freely out in Russia.

Is there any testing for this fight?

Probably only for COVID-19. Whyte has been trained for this fight by Xavier Miller who is also expected to run the corner against Povetkin.
