I use finesteride at work quite a bit, would be a little shocked if a boxer or for that matter anyone reliant on using muscles using it as it would physically make him weaker. On top of that given he is a Afro- Caribbean male, I personally believe using that drug is risky long term, aside front the boxing of course

Can you elaborate on that please? Without giving your game up.

Do you know if minoxidil makes you weaker, or causes gyno breasts, or long-term side effects?

Well, it essentially fiddles with your testosterone, it’s an anti-androgen, 5a reductase inhibitor (I think). It’s basically minor castration using a pill. It gets used in old chaps a lot to shrink the prostate if they’re flow is poor on peeing. Giving this fiddling of the testosterone or dihydrotestosterone it means the muscle bulk will be lost. I think they even use it, for transgender therapy.

My person worry and this is totally my opinion on use in a Afro-Caribbean population with no real evidence for it, is that, these men when they develop prostate cancer tend to develop more aggressive types. Finesteride was used in a study that demonstrated that it’s use could increase worse types prostate cancer, although lessening the risk of low risk prostate cancer. Therefore my personal opinion is that it would be risky long term

It can wreak havoc on your skin. Make you age years in a few months.

Yep. There used to be (they may still exist), entire sites to devoted to Finasteride permanently screwing up blokes who had taken it for hair loss. Completely lost sex drive, as in zero. Also mood swings, gyno, literal shrunken nuts. This was permanent not, temporary. And docs had no answer for it.

If you've got stage 2-3 prostrate cancer. Fair one. Given you may die of it an all. But for a healthy bloke who is insecure about his hair? Nah screw that, just shave it and don't **** about with gender-bending hormones.

This hair loss discussion and the drugs involved is fascinating. I feel attracted and nauseous in equal measure.

Hmmm not sure about that, ive never looked younger besides the application is topical and localised to your scalp dont see how that can age your skin

Minoxodil does cause ageing/wrinkling on the forehead and around the eyes. Can also cause under eye bags.

That's why I said earlier that finasteride is only worth taking if the user is injecting testosterone. Loads of athletes and film stars will be taking it but using anabolic drugs at the same time.

Any studies or evidence you can link us too to back that up?
