Are UKAD dodgy or is it just when boxing is involved?

In my humble opinion it will be dodgy for any big money sport.

I don’t think UKAD are particularly dodgy, they’re a bunch of civil servants at the end of the day (I’m also one). I just think they’re lacking power and funding, mainly the latter influencing the former.

Richest sport in the world is football. And not a single premier league footballer has ever popped....

    Seems legit

    Exactly.

The notion that some piddly little anti-doping agency could possibly get in the way of a star player or ten and derail literal billions of pounds is ludicrous. Mo Farah is also no stranger to being "out" of the house when the testers call.

The whole professional sports industry is clearly riddled with PED's - from boxing journeymen to footballers on 400k a week. As you'd expect really when the sums of money are so vast and the slightest competitive advantage can yield the difference between winning and forgotten and all it entails thereafter.

This is why Phil Mitchell faced Steve Bunce pissed me off when he did that smear job on Mia St John. It was a complete coverup "looking after the boys" hit piece. He chickened out from shining light on what is not only a huge story but also an ethical interest. Why won't any boxing journos go near TUE's? Why isn't there a broadsheet article on the Whyte gloves fiasco?

Ohh that's right, they like their press privileges and god knows what else that goes on behind the scenes.

Believing anti-doping agencies keep sport clean is for Boomer Dads who believe everything the BBC say.

Mo Farahs improvement when switching to a coach who is not opposed to gear also a concern.

Jo Konta being ranked 2 places above my next door neighbour then switching to some obscure camp in the mountains of Spain and she is suddenly a consistent final 8 grand slam player.

I think if you believe any sport you watch is clean you are very naive.

I really like Primoz Roglic. But look at his history and stories about the Slovenian trainer he is with. His 8yo countryman flying up mountains like he is on a Ducati doesn't exactly help the cynicism.

That’s not quite so unbelievable, in the 99s their diet was beer and ***s ha. They’re just fit looking blokes now that actually work out to compliment their cricket training.

Slightly different but do you remember Higgins getting caught banged to rights for fixing matches and he got off.

The Triple Crown winner from a few years back Justify, someone just whistled it failed a test the start before the Kentucky Derby. 2 people in the hearing who cleared the horse had horses in training with the bloody trainer.

It's clearly such a vast, monolithic issue that it's being swept under the carpet IMHO. There is far, far too much money at stake to crack down on it to any serious degree. Look at TUE's for example. A literal idiot can see the potential for abuse there for one. Any governing organisation could immediately clamp down on that. Nah the whole thing reeks of "wink wink nudge" about it.

Horse racing jesus christ. To me it's like a byword for corruption and cheating. Makes boxing look like bowls on the village green. Same with greyhounds.

Remember Clough and Grobbelaar allegedly accepting envelopes of a tan hue full of paper currency denominations? There was also a football splash lately where some goalie was letting in a suspiciously out of character amount.

That Higgins one was ridiculous, especially because they threw the book at Mick Hennessy look-alike Stephen Lee. Higgins is a dirty Celtic supporting cheat. Chuckling away on camera like the **** he is.
