Dillian Whyte has been number one contender for the WBC belt for months now.

But even after Dillian beats Ortiz he will still only be the second mandatory to fight Wilder.

Breazeale has been made the mandatory. How can the guy ranked lower be named mandatory over the number one contender. WBC doing everything to keep Wilder as the champion. Sickining!

Reeks of foul play again,I mean ifWilder wanted to do Stiverne all over again they could manoeuvre it right?
Clearly it’s nothing to do with rankings with WBC

They got as brave as letting an old man with a heart condition fight him after stopping his medication and he nearly got KTFO so they can't risk it again.

I expect Eric Molina to be the next mandatory.

    Terrible
Whyte has taken the fights and won to earn the position.
    Whyte is an underrated boxer

You can favour Whyte, dear Mr. Bailey, but still Ortiz will eat Dillian Whyte alive.

Ortiz is off the drugs now, fat and old. Whyte will do him easier than Wilder did.

The brazen criminal energy of Al Haymon makes Don King look like an innocent virgin Mary.

    Each to their own.

A side note to anyone reading but Whyte to be #1 contender fought Chisora, Helenius and Brown in a bid to get his WBC title shot which it doesnt look like he will be getting and will have to potentially face Ortiz to hopefully get the opportunity.

Ortiz to get the fight with Wilder was coming off fights with Scott, Allen (a former Whyte opponent), Martz

If you look at Whytes last 3 fights I think it is far greater than Wilders other challengers previous 3 fights results before facing Wilder

Chisora, Helenius and Browne vs Scott, Thompson, Jennings

I can not see a clear win for Whyte here.

Jennings is the best win by far. Thompson and Scott vs Browne and Helenius pretty much equal.

You probably forgot about the fact that Ortiz did lose TWO rounds of boxing in his whole career till the Wilder fight (both vs Jennings). He did not lose a single round in 27 fights. He knocked very solid opponents down several times. He knocked down/out Jennings who wasn't even knocked down/out by WLAD.

    Chisora was robbed vs Whyte.
Whyte looked average vs SHOT and SLOW AS **** Helenius.
    Browne also shot.

Ortiz would knock all three names out in one or two rounds.

There must be a reason why a 38yo Cuban get the chance to fight Wilder and not D. Whyte.

Listen it's quite simple and perfectly transparent. Dillian Whyte is the number 1 ranked challenger and holder of the WBC Silver belt. He's entitled to be the mandatory challenger to the Champion, but only on the fifth Tuesday of a month with a Q in it and the challenge has to take the form of 13 minutes of improvised creative dancing incorporating the themes of alienation and including a mime depicting the migration of the ancient Babylonian tribes at the time of the reign of Cyrus the Great. At all other times the mandatory challenger will be the second ranked boxer, unless Al Haymon says otherwise. I can't believe I have to explain this. It's plain common sense.
