Joshua vs Sprott was also an eliminator, so the winner of this one, Whyte IMO will theoretically meet Joshua for the British title, presuming Fury vacates it, but Joshua vs Whyte for the British title at this early stage of their careers seems too good to be true, reminiscent of Price vs Fury when Price became Fury's mandatory. Back to Whyte vs Cornish, I think Whyte stops Cornish late but it'll be a closer fight than most think.
Gary Cornish will last no more than 2 rounds against Dillian Whyte setting up Joshua-Whyte. My first reaction was like yours Hearn would duck it but they really seem to think AJs the next Lennox Lewis so you never know.
i hope we aint getting another hype job power puncher like CEJ was. whyte looks powerful but sloppy. he would beat cornish because he hits harder and more athletic, but dillian whyte is no match for joshua.
Whyte's on the return train and trying to put some form together as well as shaking the rust off - but this is a very winnable fight and a fight I'd expect him to win also.
Interesting match-up. I'm not high on Cornish either. Whyte is improving, but still is very wild and sloppy. If the fight goes beyond 6 rounds, Cornish has a chance.
Yeh then he beat a few more Latvian cab drivers by KO and he was all of sudden a huge puncher. I think it was because he cornered a can in the 1st round and stopped him in the 1st round everyone thought it was great.
Cornish at best would beat the likes of Danny Williams now, so why the F are we talking about him even landing a punch against Dhillion. Would also say AJ smashes Dhillion all day long too.
