Good fight, John's inconsistent but he's the type of guy who can expose the lesser fighters. Lot of ??'s over Whyte so this is a nice test for him, John isn't a massive puncher but digs enough to crack brittle chins and he has ok boxing ability so it's a nice step up for the kid. He loses then we know he's not much cop, he wins then we know he's a decent/good (depends on performance) domestic fighter at the least.

There's just not much middle ground in HW division and John's about as close as you get to bridging the gap to Fury/Price and Chisora.

Tough fight to call cos John is so inconsistent, I think it will be a closeish fight with Whyte securing the win in middle rounds after a scrappy display.

Mate - trust me Dillian is going to slap up Mcdermott and then its going to get interesting he will have to fight someone he has sparred with.

I'd rather he punch John up,down and round and round rather then slap. We'll see how it goes, edited my intial post to add a prediction.

I know it is mate :good, I think Dillian will win but John's a hot and cold fighter. He may just go to bits early or have a go and give Dillian a test.

I hope Dillian does the biz, i'm always happy to see my fellow South Londoners do well :yep.

McDermott is a good fight for him at this stage.

Even though he's not all that, he's got enough about him to turn a kid over if he's either crap or not got his mind on the job.

Those are the sort of journeymen/gatekeepers that we need, not these 2-189-11 guys.

Good fight if it happens & will answer a few question about Dillian

I'm confident Whyte looks good & stops big John

McDermott in half decent shape will batter the juicehead.

Takes a very, very good fighter to stop Big John. I know where my money's going.

Good fight and will be amazed if Whyte stops him in 3 as one prediction says. I really don't see why people think Whyte is some murderous puncher. He was banging Rasani flush on the chin and didn't so much as drop him. Rasani has been blown away by Haye, Bellew, Kenny Anderson and a good while back by Dean Francis.

All good punchers but if a past it Francis is knocking him out, Anderson is too and other light heavies, I think a shot to **** Rasani eating bombs and being rocked but never floored by Whyte raises questions over his power.

I'd be delighted to be proved wrong and I like Whyte's attitude.

I like Whyte and reckon he wins.

Serious worries about him being a clean fighter. He's showing signs of either previously juicing, or still juicing.

Reckon he could be another warmachine waiting to happen, albiet a little bit of a better fighter!

Tbf he rarely landed cleanly on Rasani & has shown major improvements since then. Dillian does seem to have decent power & his punches have bad intentions, as his technique improves I think he'll be capable of taking out better quality opponents.

That's a fair post, and as I say I was not doubting that he has decent power, just this talk of him being some brutal puncher doesn't ring true from what I've seen.

But technique is a very good point, his technique on the left hook against Rasani was horrible. The more he irons these things out the better he will be. McDermott is a good test and nice step up.
