dominic guinn is exactly the type of fighter i would have liked to see against joshua in his 12th fight or so to give him rounds / to late now.
in fairness to joshua he did fight about 4 fighters who had never been stopped before his title shot albeit none with a guinn like chin.

why wilder did not fight a few rock chinned jouneyman in the 32 or so fights before his world title fight is the reason why even after 36 fights and 3 title defenses he stiil has loads of flaws that have not been sorted.

it seems ko winning streaks are more important than learning fights which was rarely the case in the past

Apparently he's fight Danny Batchelder, who's has lost his last two fights by knockout.
Even this shot version of Guinn would have been a far better opponent.

According to boxrec he's fighting Batchelder on 6/25 and TBA on 7/30. The TBA is believed to be Guinn.

Hughie Fury beat Guinn a couple of months ago.
Hughie Fury also beat Fred Kassi, who is proven to be about as good as Breazeale and Arreola.

I was at the fight when Guinn nearly took Michael Grant's head off - it was the undercard of Gatti-Ward 3. I'll admit from that point on I was excited to see more of him. After losing what I recall was a decent fight (could be wrong) to Monte Barrett by SD, his punch output dropped down about 90 percent.

It's like he automatically went from a contender to a journeyman in that second. Watching him fight Liakovich and Ahunanya he virtually threw zero punches. My only thought was his extensive amateur career (something over 300 fights, I think) finally caught up with him, along with losing the desire to be one of the best in the division after the loss to Barrett. Once in a blue moon he still shows flashes of a fighter who can inflict damage, but his punch output is a joke, and his weight doesn't help.

My guess is Whythe wins this one by shutout.

Solid tune up for Whyte. Good gatekeeper name, shot but a name. Remember guys, Wilder would fight Guinn for the WBC belt if he could place him in the WBC top 15. So hes definitely good enough for Whyte.
