The soon to be heavyweight champion of the world or the man who stood tall and went the distance against some of the most terrifying punchers of the 70's (Foreman, Lyle, Bonavena) with George being the only one to actually stop him in the 10th round of their rematch. Can Whyte snatch that body?
Whyte is far better than Peralta was and Foreman wasn`t punching correctly in that fight as he was struggling and started to gas, Whyte`s hook would probably stop Peralta.
At the age of 38 Peralta twice went the distance with Lyle ,drawing with him in their last fight.Peralta was only stopped 3 times in116figths , and only counted out once, by banger Mauro Mina. The other stoppages were due to a cut eye against Pastrano and a tko to Foreman.Bonavena couldn't stop him, Lyle in 2 tries couldnt and Foreman, in 2 goes managed it just once. Who has Whyte stopped? A washed up Povetkin and gatekeeper Chisora. You are severely underselling Gregorio here.
Peralta was crafty, but the size disparity is absurd. And Whyte, for all his limitations, is much better trained than the lot Peralta faced in his prime. Gotta go with the (much) bigger man.
Not sure if the size is going to be such a huge factor. Ron Lyle was almost exact same height and an aged Peralta managed to go the distance and score a draw against him, albeit a controversial one.
Lyle is better than Whyte imo, better jab ,better conditioned ,and hit harder. Whyte carries 20lbs of excess lard on him.
Not disagreeing with you per say but while about similar height Whyte is quite a bit bigger than Ron and Lyle and George Foreman were in the 70's. Foreman of the 70's had the name "Big" But was actually the same size as Ali and wouldn't look so big next to Dillian Whyte or other guys like Lennox Lewis, Klitschko Brothers, Joshua etc Again I'm it saying they all beat him or anything like that I'm just talking about their size.
Lol Whyte isn't better than Foreman at doing anything. Foreman had a hard time catching up to Peralta and Whyte would just be completely out boxed.
Again, cannot tell if you are joking. Here's Whyte LOSING (to a bigger man, admittedly). When did Lyle ever demonstrate that technical acumen and composure? This content is protected Here's Lyle against an old, undersized Quarry This content is protected I don't doubt Quarry could eventually manage to overcome the Kovlaev's, Bivols and Betebievs of the modern era, though he'd need a modern trainer's help. I just don't see him succeeding anywhere above Light Heavyweight. And pursuing Whyte would be suicidal.
Tell me how George beats these guys with his wild swinging. This content is protected Oh yea.... they wouldn't beat him because he'd run off to Japan to fight Roman instead. Or maybe Jesus would save him? Hell, why get raped by dudes like this in a Boxing ring when you can just sell electric grills?
Whyte is not a world class fighter. In the 1970s he'd beat Danny McAlinden and Bunny Johnson, he'd beat Richard Dunn and Jean-Pierre Coopman maybe. I doubt he'd beat Gregorio Peralta. Lyle, Quarry, Foreman would kill him.
