Mac Foster, Earnie Shavers, Ron Lyle.

Quarry just couldn't help himself and deconstructed all those punchers that were meant to take him out whenever he met them.

What makes Whyte so much different in your opinion?

He's bigger and better trained. Most of all he can take a punch.

The "big men" Quarry beat in the 60's/70's would be Cruiserweights today.

Granted, if they really did fight today, they be better than they were in the 70's. Fighters are very coddled today.

But hey, fighters in the 70's were coddled compared to fighters at the turn of the Century.

Peralta makes him look like a fool.

Whyte doesn't even have the basics under control. He is an instinctual fighter with poor fundamentals, terrible defense, and mediocre coordination.

The main things that help in this fight are his powerful body shots and his reach advantage, but Peralta would probably beat him on the inside and out hustle him.

As much as Whyte is a competitor, has done ok at the current top-ish level for a while, and that I wouldn't entirely rule him out of having his successes here and there, Peralta is one seriously tough dude. I think it more likely that Whyte would be out-thought and outworked by Peralta, on his way to losing a decision.
