Interview on TV: This content is protected He's injuries before the fight: Broken rib - (anyone that has had a broken rib will know how difficult it is to do anything without whincing in pain, simply breathing hurts.) Broken hand - (as a boxer you rely on your hands to throw punches, if your hand is broken you can't execute your punches effectively) Chest infection during camp - chest infection/virus affects your breathing, Dillian had to lower his intensity in training just a few weeks out from the fight. At this point, Dillian was considering to pull out of the fight, but he didn't and went on to be victorious without being in prime shape. This is the pro grame, and one injury is fair enough BUT that injury list is extensive when going up against Parker quality most guys would have rescheduled. ----------------------------------------- We're seeing more and more about how tough Dillian is and he's true potential when he's in peak shape. The guys at the top of the division were destined to be there because of their physical gifts and their work ethic. I count Dillian among those guys, he's no average contender, he's the real deal.
Obviously we don't know whether all that is true but Dillian always has my respect for not complaining about his shoulder injury in his loss to Joshua. He went into the fight injured, aggravated it badly immediately after he landed that huge left hook that rocked Joshua and he couldn't throw it properly again for the rest of the fight - and most importantly in those seconds after Joshua was hurt. Then he needed surgery to sort it out after the fight. Still never complained and doesn't bring it up in interviews. I don't rate him but he has earned his first class degree from the University of the Warrior's Code for sure.
To hell with this excuse maker. Hearn tells his fighters to bring up injuries. He's not the only fighter in the world who fights through injuries and illness and it doesn't turn them into a complete blubbering mess inside the ring, needing the ref to pick them up off the canvas and pretend it isn't a knockdown.
What a *****. Ortiz is 65 years old with a heart condition and still fought Wilder and never complained.
He rolled out so many alibis and excuses he should have done his ring walk in a wheelchair. The video needs a scratch and sniff card.
I don't believe him, he wouldn't of passed the medical if he has a broken rib and a broken hand coming into the fight. I can believe he sustained those injuries during the fight but before, unlikely. Not saying fighters can't come in with injuries, anyone elite sports person will likely be carrying the odd niggling injury now and again, Parker for example had surgery on both elbows before the Joshua fight and had been carrying these injuries for a few fights. But broken bones coming into a fight seems excessive and unlikely unless it was a small bone somewhere that wouldn't be exposed to impact like the fist and ribs.
Too much money at stake for these fighters to pull out injured. Look at Haye/Bellew 1. Haye went in with a leg already hanging off. It shouldn’t be allowed and I believe fighters should be put through a vigorous medical before hand, not only are we paying our hard earned cash but it’s also the fighters lives at risk
Lucas Browne fought this liar with some type of legit concussion explaining the one punch comatose when before that he'd taken KD's from Walker and Chagaev and got up to win. Brain bruising is about the worse disadvantage you can go into a boxing match with and makes Whyte's bull**** laughable in comparison. Not defending Browne, he promised to silence Whyte but was more interested in promoting his new mascara brand than training.
lol at the number of haters this thread has attracted. Nothing new for Dillian I suppose... This thread gives us an audit trail of all the haters until the next time Dillian wins again and achieves something.
Every boxer carries injuries, That's already been said, But did you know Dillian, Was legally dead? Before he fought Parker, He was feeling so down, He summoned the doctor, Who said with a frown, I'm sorry to say, That there's nought I can do, You've clearly stopped breathing, And your heart has stopped too, But Whyte's such a fighter, He ignored what was said, And he got the decision, Although legally dead, That he still moves and talks, Is a chance in a million, He's a tough s.o.b Is that boxer called Dillian,
The warrior in him will take him further than people think imo..He has a good enough mix of everything to beat anyone I reckon
