After watching him sat opposite joshua I can't help but think he is nothing more than another Bellew. Talking about fighting on the street constantly. Who cares who wins on the cobbles, it only matters in the ring when they get paid. I think he will promise everything and deliver nothing. Not blowing smoke up Joshua's ring piece as he has beat no one above domestic level so he is only still a "prospect" but I can't see Whyte surviving for long in the fight game. After his first loss, wether it is on dec 12th or not I can see him falling off the rails soon after
He is going to get a nice pay day and a memory of how he fought the future HW champion of the world and that's about it.
I'm guessing after all that sparring AJ did with klitschko he knows he can fight on the outside with the jab out fairly comfortably now, he'll box smart against whyte, there's no need to mix things up on the inside. Should be interesting for a few rounds but AJ is a different fighter now compared to when they fought in the amatuers. Would be nice to see AJ move on to euros after this fight, a fight with charr would be a good move
Whyte is not very articulate unfortunately, but there probably is some germ of truth underneath all of what he says. When he says Joshua is a fake, he has a hard time explaining what he means, but I think we know. Joshua likes to play the 'role model' card, with his 'stay hungry' mantra (which I find tedious now), but Whyte is saying he's not like that when the cameras are off.
It's his win over AJ as an amateur that has seen him built up. They don't want to say Joshua got dropped and beaten by a nobody. I think he's a solid domestic/potentially euro level fighter. I'd have him to stop Cornish, Towers and co. any day of the week. Could he beat Charr? Prob. Teper? I don't know, I always expect him to get KO'd but he keeps on trucking...
It wasn't long ago Tyson Fury was being described on this forum as domestic level, and I often agreed (back in 2011, '12 even). People in 2013 and '14 when he was set to face Haye were dismissing him all over the place as a hyped-up domestic level fighter, NOT IN HAYE'S CLASS, although I never believed that by then. And Dereck Chisora still regarded as domestic level by many. So I'm not going to say that about Whyte just yet. Maybe Joshua's domestic level too, even if he KOs Whyte in 1 round we're still one the wiser as to how he matches up against real contenders of any description. Joshua is all hype at the minute.
I could have cried watching that. They mentioned their fight at CSM way back in the day. I'm 99 percent sure I was there with my friends and we decided to leave early. Need to confirm the dates but I'll be fuming! Anyway - on topic. I do agree to an extent but it's so difficult to say when neither has really been tested. Roll on the 12th
Bellew holds a lot more class than Whyte, Whyte would offered anyone man off the street a fight, he's an idiot.
Due to Whyte moving in slow motion and poor boxing ability, he has no chance. He's just your average **** talker trying to make a few quid. I think he'll fight Cornish next and get outboxed.
Embarassing. Talking about street fights rather than the fight. Concentrate on your waist line and your skills. Joshua is twice the size he was as an amateur. Whyte doesn't look like he's changed in size.
I think you gotta stop saying that about Bellew.. fav to win a cruiserweight ABC.. Rocky 7.. Stevenson II will be funny more for you..
