quite funny one kncokdown dimi threw a cluster and spun hoffman and ended up behind him as hoffman was going down to the canvas where duly dimitrenko now straddled over his back pushed him in the shoulders face first into the canvas. crowd very pro hoffman booed dimitrenko.
Dimitrenko won, but it was an overall disappointing performance. He helped Hoffman out by fighting at his pace for most of the time and showed that his chin is fragile again. His heart was the only thing that impressed me. He was clearly gassed after that KD, but he came back from it and stopped Hoffman in the final round instead of just playing it safe. Really good fight though (one of the best HW bouts of the year) and I was wrong in saying that this wouldn't be a big test. It SHOULDN'T have been this difficult for Dimitrenko and that's why it was a disappointment if you're a fan of his. ****.. even Timur Ibragimov dominated Hoffman. Povetkin would destroy Dimitrenko, who fights scared, has a weak chin, and doesn't have big power.
nice win for Dimitrenko. at 25 he still has time to develop. he could be a player for a belt in a year or two.
I dont care if Dimitrenko is not a puncher, you cannot take so many flush full power shots over 12 rounds from a 250 lbs HW.
Haha yeah, I loved that knockdown. It was like he wanted to show Hoffman who his daddy was after getting low blowed.
Hoffman didnt even come close to stopping him after the KD. What do mean could of? Hoffman had the chance and didnt. He maybe won the next round but dimitrenko wasnt that badly hurt.
I don't think Dimitrenko will ever have the edge on Povetkin. That said he is a late bloomer and will be where he should be physically in about two year, my opinion, and I look forward to him being part of the heavyweight mix.
Yeah, it was exciting. The funny part is that it could have ended early when Dimitrenko was knocking Hoffman all over the ring. If Hoffman wasn't German I could see most German refs stopping the fight at that point.
It doesn't prove anything, but good win by Dimitrenko, probably his best test to date. Virchis should have taken the chance to defend his EU belt vs Dimitrenko and improve his chances of landing a title shot, he could even get a mandatory status maybe.
Offensively he is a class above Hoffman, he is faster, punches harder and more acccurate. Unfortunatelly he has a weak chin, a big puncher is going to finish him off. Wladimir Klitschko would absolutely destroy him.
Hard to say. Perhaps he had been a bit stronger in Vitali's fight . He had some stamina issues with Dimitrenko. Dimitrenko was really winded after KD if Hofmann pressed harder the fight might have had other ending.
Obviously Dimitrenko is much better. Aside from from one KD at which Dimitrenko was up about at about 2 or 3, Hoffman done nothing but take a beating.
