Dimitrenko did better than expected by some sceptical people. He has good speed, considerable power, quick jab, fine inside fighting, good bodypunching and good footwork. His power is not extreme and his defense is not very good. He doesn't always fights smart being careless and taking unprofitable risk. His style should be tuned further.

Spot on! This is an accurate assessment of the situation. Dimitrenko's promoters are very well aware that he he is not ready for a fight against a top 10 heavyweight. He needs a lot of tough sparring to improve one of his weaknesses - his defence to protect his shaky chin. Dimitrenko actually resembles his compatriot Wladimir Klitschko in quite a lot of respects. Apart from his physical dimension (height, reach), he profits from a deep punch arsenal but suffers from a less-than-granite chin. The most striking difference is his lack of a good punch and killer instinct. If he continues his current path, he might fulfill his potential and become an interim world title holder just like Lyakhovich. However, he displayed several chinks in his armour tonight. A more aggressive opponent like Povetkin would have knocked him out.

German TV entertained the idea of a showdown against shot stablemate Krasniqi as the next step. I would like to see him against Lamon Brewster next.

 

As soon as Dimitrenko faces someone worth a **** he will be koed. He has a weak chin like wlad klitschko but he also lacks power. Dimitrenko would not last a round with even someone as sorry as mccline.

The German lumberjack has always been a slow plodder.
Good victory for Dimitrenko IMO.
Hoffman had never been stopped before,and he had shared the ring with quite a lot of good names.
Dimitrenko still has to learn one or two things,but he is young and the potential is there.He is no big puncher,but his jab is excellent,and so is his stamina.
Well,he is no Povetkin,but he for sure plays in Brook's and Peter's league.
