The fight was so bad it is difficult to imagine. Sosnowski tried hard, but he had not much skills, and Dimitrenko was holding him and leaning on him more than allowed - you may imagine how much just by that fact that he had a point deducted for that in his own country (although he got deduction really late, when it was clear this point won't change anything).

Part of the reason why the fight was so bad was the referee. I already said he turned blind eye on Dimitrenko tactic (which made Ruiz exciting to watch), but alse whenever Dimitrenko was down he was just asking him to stand up and continue, while at least one time is was a clear knocdown after a bodyshot.

I admit there was some drama when Sosnowski started to get upper hand in the 2nd half, and finally scored a knockdown on exhausted Dimitrenko. Dimitrenko recovered a bit, but still if someone was going to get knocked down in 12th it looked it would be rather him than Sosnowski. Well, Sosnowski took the risk (he had to, he was down on two scorecards - wide on one and by one point on another, so the best he could get without a knockdown would be a draw anyway) and failed... he showed heart and determination, but his skills are nonexistant.

Being dropped by Timo Hoffmann despite performing dominantly displays Dimitrenko's position in the HW division accurately.

Dimitrenko vs Arreola might make for an interesting fight. Arreola wouldn't let him lean all over him like Sos did.

Dimitrenko is a very legit top 10 heavy.

I was quite impressed with how much snap he had on his shots in round 12.

Sure it wasn't a pretty fight but people need to get over themselves. Dimitrenko is still above the current sloths at HW today such as Peter and Solis, especially now with yet another decent win on his record.

I doubt Sosnowski had more skills than Peter, and if he was able to connect and drop Dimi, Peter would kill him.

I would favour Dimitrenko over current, one-legged version of Solis if that was you idea. Otherwise, I do not think his lazy jab would keep him at bay (again, it didn't work with Sosnowski, who made the fight really competitive).

He may be borderline top10 (IMO rather top15, it is still generous for two wins over limited opposition in three years), but that tells more about the division than him.

Watching the first 11 rounds of this fight was like being stabbed in the eyes with a sharp chisel dipped in vinegar and then salted.

The KO-of-the-year candidate in the 12th almost made up for it though. Almost.

Very bad fight. Easily worst yet of 2011.

Strange distinction, to hold two honors on such opposite ends of the spectrum. (Knockout of the Year So Far, and Worst Fight of the Year So Far)
