Alexander Dimitrenko vs. Kubrat Pulev, fighting tomorrow for some kind of Euro belt, whatever that means. Screw the belt, this sounds like a great matchup to me, with two fighters I like. They both have skills and decent potential. I'd rather watch this than Haye-Chisora, or (Lord help us) Wlad-Thompson, any day. Pulev needs this fight to prove he is K2-ready, so he'll be extra motivated, but this could be very close & exciting. Yeah, Chambers owned Dim in their fight, but I think that was a stylistic thing. Dim has solid fundamentals & is very aggressive, plus he may have learned a lot from the Chambers fight. Predictions?
Because, with all due respect...both are very average..... Especially Pulev....one of the slowest fighters I ever seen......
Average compared to who? Arreola? Chisora? Mitchell? I think, given the current dismal state of the HW division, that this is a pretty good fight.
Dimitrenko is mentally weak but Pulev brings nothing he could be scared of. Dimitrenko struggles with smaller opponents who he finds hard to hit and who get under him. Bean, Chambers, Sprott type guys. tall featherfisted Pulev should suit him much better. Dimitrenko is best at midrange and has stopped Hoffmann or Tann guys before while Pulev even looked terrible against that fat bum Orlov. Dimitrenko is the better boxer the better jabber the physically stronger guy and the far better puncher. I think Dimitrenko wins this probably by kayo. at least if he makes it to the ring and doesn't collapse in his locker room or pulls some other stunt like that..
They fight for the EBU-title. THE European Championship. So a very prestigious title. Though even more so in the older days before the inflation of "world titles" but this is a very good fight for it.
As for a prediction i lean towards Pulev. He is on the up while Dimi seems on the slide, but Dimi also got the power to end it at any time.. Great fight for sure!
