Dimitrienko is a threat to no one but himself at this point. Too bad, he used to be a promising young boxer. Had it all except for dedication and heart.

    He's not fighting Dimitrenko.

Wilder will fight either Czar Glazkov, Artur Spzilka or one of the guys from the PBC card coming up in three weeks (featuring Charles Martin-Dominic Breazeale fight and Chris Arreola-Travis Kauffman).

Glazkov (#3), Spzilka (# eight) and Arreola (#13) are all ranked by the WBC. Martin is ranked #2 by the WBO and #4 by the IBF. Breazeale will get ranked by everyone if he beats Martin.

I believe it'll be Spzilka, unless Arreola wins by a KO in one round ... then I think he'll get it. They've been trying to match Wilder and Arreola for a while, but Arreola keeps stinking out the joint.

This is the sort of fight he should have had on his way to a title not when he's already got his title

I doubt it will be anybody who is going to fight between now and then. If so, why not just go ahead and let him Povetkin fight?

Because Povetkin doesn't want to fight until April or May.

And Haymon is trying to keep Wilder busy to build him up during the two-year push PBC has with the networks.

Wilder would've fought even more than he has, but he broke his hand against Stiverne.

They're trying to build a highlight reel for Wilder while getting sports fans acquainted with him. He'll be more active than any PBC fighter in 2016.

Sitting Wilder for seven to eight months -- from September to April or May -- isn't in the plans.

He'll be fighting in late January. Early April. Late July/early August. And a big fight to close out the year.

Povetkin certainly "deserves" the first shot. But if he isn't ready, nobody should have to wait around.

People seem to forget that Povetkin scheduled the Wach fight BEFORE Wilder scheduled the Duhaupas fight. If Wilder had "waited" for Povetkin, he'd have been sitting out from the Molina fight until next year waiting for Povetkin to "get ready."

(Also, don't forget, Povetkin was Wlad's mandatory as early as 2008, but he kept getting hurt, and then Teddy Atlas didn't think he was ready, and then he fought for another title, and then he decided to defend that for a while ... and it took years to get him in the ring. This time, Povetkin became Wilder's mandatory in May. And then he decided he wanted a tuneup with Wach in November. And now he's not going to be ready until next Spring.)

Let Wilder keep fighting until Povetkin can get his broad hips back into the gym.

I like it. Put them all to work. Let them fight every couple months for a million bucks. Rack up those defenses. Everybody complained for years that fighters weren't boxing often enough.

Now fighters are anxious to get back in the ring, and people act confused by it or want them to sit out for seven or eight months.

Yup, that's the one. He made Pulev look top-shelf. :-(
