So on Sunday, 19 year-old sensation AJ Banal from The Philippines utterly destroyed unbeaten Caril Herrera and earned the mandatory shot against the IBF SFW champ, the skilled and talented Dimitri Kirilov. According to the commentators during the Banal-Herrera fight, Kirilov has got the right for another voluntary defense before he has to face mandatory Banal, but it's still March so if Banal's handlers will push for the title shot, he can fight the champ before his 20th birthday (which is on 28 Dec). Of course Kirilov is trained by Freddie Roach so he would work against a filipino this time... Since this fight could happen in a few months, I think we can add a poll to the thread. I hope AJ wins against Kirilov, but more importantly I hope he's not starting too young fighting the elites. The worst thing that can happen to any young star fighter is to burn himself out, and that can happen easily.
