I tend to agree with you on this one Divac. I know Ed has some incredible power and he's definitly a talented kid. However while I see some comparison with him to PAC in regards to how ambitious both of these guys are or were I tend to think PAC has a little more in the talent area than Ed and that JMM has the style, skills and experience to beat Ed and by KO. I do however feel that with Ed's confidence and power JMM will take his time and maybe even loose a few early rounds before his class and skills begin to really show. At the end of the night it will be a rough start but ultimately a KO victory for Juan Manuel.

Trust me on this one Charlivint......

I've been one on this forum who's always pointed out, even before Pac faced JMM for the first time.....that JMM was a stylisitc nightmare for someone of the skill level and left hand happy Pacquiao.......but along with that sentiment, I pointed out prior to the Pac rematch that JMM would again clearly outclass Pac, but because of Pac's speed, power and determination, it would be a physically taxing fight everytime for JMM.

Imo I was dead right in my sentiments......

.......but for Valero, off of what I've seen of him, I'd really be suprised to see Valero survive the early rounds vs JMM.....

Valero can have a chin made of granite.....but its going to crumble at the first shot JMM lands cleanly on it with Valero's chin fully exposed the way he carries it.....

To date, Valero has only faced C level competition, its going to be a whole different ballgame just stepping up to face B level competition......I could only imagine the shock in Valero's face when he starts throwing wild shots at JMM and he cant find him, and with JMM sidestepping and countering with authority those wild shots......

C level competition succumb right away to the type of speed and power that Valero posseses........they see it coming and just go into a shell when they cant do anything about it....simply these C level fighters dont have the skill level to deal with speed and power at any level......

B level fighters have the skill to be able to expose a fighter like Valero that has gaping holes.......

The A level fighter just totally takes him apart limb from limb......and in Valero's case, his chin held as high as it is would be a magnet for someone of JMM's skill and caliber......

Sorry Charlie......this matchup is a complete mismatch of a fight.....you dont go from facing C level competition to facing what many would consider boxing's best P4P, and hope that Valero could deal with the skill........

Trust me, the step up from the level Valero has been fighting to fighting JMM its not only big, its huge......

The difference is going to be like putting two equally matched fighters to fight in a pitch dark room, and giving one of them night vision goggles.

JMM by early KO......the first shot JMM lands to Valero's exposed chin, is going to have him on ***** street.....from there, its going to be like a cat toying with a blind mouse.

    Valero has a puncher's chance.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if Marquez had to get off the canvas to win it.

A counter puncher who throws tons of combinations like MArquez would really hurt Valero imo.. Valero's old head injury is still in question and he can't get hit too many times.. IT would be better for him to suffer a one punch knockout rather than a sustained beating like he would receive from Marquez..

He's a live underdog who'd have his moments, maybe even knock Marquez down, but at the end he'd get knocked out brutally.

JMM is a great, great fighter, but he's been on the physical decline for years now. Valero is a good trainer away from being a very dangerous man.

Give Valero another six to nine months of seasoning, and there's nothing easy about this fight. I like Marquez. I just hope the Chris John experience taught him enough about risk/ reward to wait for confirmation that Pacquiao is a pipe dream before he signs the dotted line on this one.

    JMM by KO/UD
    Valero by early KO
I lean on JMM since he is much proven than Valero but I think that will be a great fight one who possess youth/power but lack of defensive style and the other was a Master boxer/tactician.

If Valero is such a chump, why aren't people lining up to fight him?

I agree that JMM is a good technician with very decent power and quite a strong chin, but Valero brings that X-factor. He has KOed everyone he has fought and he might have looked a bit ragged finishing off Pitalua, he does appear to have serious KO power.

JMM will counterpunch as I can't see him trading with a guy like Valero. I see him dismantling Valero as the fight goes on, but the uncertainty is how many wars JMM has fought and how good Valero really is. Maybe he can hold his guard low because he is so fast and strong?

Valero better tuck that chin of his. It will be an easy target for a class- A opponent.

Why would you line up to fight a chump?? Fighters aim to fight the best to be the best. Just like what Valero should do to prove he's the best. If he's deserving, he will get noticed. He needs to fall in line. Besides, we're not even sure if he willl get halfway with the level of competition he's been in with. Im sure his got mad power in those fists, but its not always offense. YTou got to take care of your defense as well

You make very good points Divac. I actually felt exactly the same before the Juan Diaz fight where I was VERY surprised that it took JMM so long to get his rythm, timing and distance toghether before taking complete control of the fight.

Now...I will say this. Juan is more diversified than Edwin in the skills department. Juan is a busier, more aggressive than Valero so that maybe why Juan had a harder time getting acclimated to the fight evironment.

There is NO question that JMM is the most distinct, accurate and polished boxer out of the mentioned fighters and that is the reason I predicted he would beat Ed and Juan....but Im still very surprised that Juan did so well which made me re-evaluate how JMM would beat Ed should the fight ever happen.

But you are spot on with your assesment on Ed's career and oppoents. Most of his fights were against only decent level opposition....of whom 95% were scared going into the fight....they basically already lost the fight before the bell for round 1.
