Darnell Wilson, taking no light touch in his bounceback fight after back-to-back losses (3 in his last 4 outings) is stepping up against 31-1 Grigory "Pretty Boy" Drozd in Russia this Thursday. :think Drozd's only loss is to Firat Arslan (arguably the best name on his resume, unless you're Rob Calloway's mom), who also recently conquered Wilson. Difference is, Wilson stayed on his feet to lose on points where Pretty Boy was stopped in five by the muscular German. Who's seen enough of Prokopyevsk's finest to have an opinion/prediction here? Is Drozd a chinny, protected fighter (meaning a good trophy for Ding to mount a comeback around)? Was the Arslan fight a fluke? Does Dingaling need to be a lot more motivated than he was in his groan-worthy losing effort against Contender finalist Hino Ehikhamenor?
I think division is deep and competitive so anything may happen at any time. Ding-Drozd is a good fight.
The only reason anyone even thinks Ding is worth talking about is that he used to write in these forums. The guy is a journeyman fighter who feasts on bums and ocassionally sends a prospect packing.
Darnell is a genuinely nice guy who can really punch. See Flores running from him a good portion of there fight.. He has fought for a title and has fought some good comp so no he doesnt feast on bum's, Is he a great boxer no but he is a good boxer who has made a career in the pro ranks which is a lot more then you, I and almost everyone on here can say. :thumbsup
I don't care if he's a better boxer than me, I'm not even going to argue the achievements I've had in the ring, I've probably had a better amateur career than he did, regardless, like I said, the only reason anyone gives a **** about him is that he writes here.
At this point of there careers I feel Drozd wins on points easy. But i did vote for Wilson - cool cat.
I watched both of them during an open workout last Friday and I need to tell'ya that Wilson is in tremendous shape right now. His speed was awesome. I believe Droz must be at 100% to ovcerome this test. I hope he will but I voted for a Ding-man. Really a nice guy to talk to. We shall see though.
That makes absolutely no sense. So you fabricated your poll response? I wonder how many others did the same, and if you subtract them whether this would be closer. :think
A big reason, sure, but don't act like the guy hasn't done anything in the ring to earn our praise - he's given us some great knockouts.
