Ding needs a change of both philosophy and trainer...no matter how difficult that change may be.

Gotta root for Ding. Seems like a great guy. Love that he posts here under his name!!! Go Ding and best wishes in and especially outside the ring!

I agree; what he's doing is just not working for him; and no one can say he isn't working hard in training...

Calling Ding a journeyman is ridiculous, he is still a top 15 CW out there.

His recent losses came againt Arslan, who is number 2 or 3 in the world and BJ Flores, who must be number 8 in the world these days, and he put up a competitive bout with either one. No shame there.

It's an option if he amputates a limb. I don't think we're looking at a Chris Byrd situation here. Ding looked solid as hell in the pictures I saw this weekend. He'd have POW stamina if he tried to make 175.

He needs to get with a trainer who can add some variety to his attack. Right now all he has is that hail mary overhand right, but he obviously has the physical tools and mental strength to pick up some new ideas.

Realistically he might as well do what he has been doing: fighting against anyone that pops up, going wherever on quick notice if need be and pocketing the cash. You can say whatever about making changes and all that but we're talking about a guy well over 30 and with an extremely limited skillset. Taking significant time off would probably be a big mistake. Guys in his position need to keep their name out there and hopefully get calls.

This is excatly what I'm thinking. His corner didn't seem to have a plan B and the plan A was the wrong one to start with.

Ding would do well by developing a nice jab and use it to win some of the closer rounds for him.

So often he lets those close rounds go the opposite way because he doesn't WORK enough during the round. Even a simple flicking jab would look better than just following and stalking hoping for a big punch.

Yap...no good just carrying on doing the same stuff that doesn't work. Ding needs to change his gameplan.

Getting better with his left hook and jab would do wonders. Then he'd have a chance at moving a guy INTO his right without following all night long.

There are still plenty of fights for Ding at cruiser. I'd like to see him fight Eric Fields in a FNF/ WNF main event.

    Well spoken, apollo!

No shame to lose to one of the reigning champs.

Drozd lost to Arslan, too. And Tokarev couldnt beat Arslan either. Neither could Hill nor a bunch of other relatively known names.

I would probably bet my money on Ding against Maccarelli,Wlodarcyzk, and some other fringe contenders .
