This would be a great fight between two power punchers. And it would give Ding a chance to get back in the win column. Herrera is a hot commodity after his big win over previously unbeaten Aaron Williams.
Herrera has a shaky chin, and wouldn't be able to take advantage of his opponent's less than stellar whiskers against Ding. I expect that Wilson has him out of there in around 5 rounds, if that.
I'd like to see Jose Luis Herrera move down to his natual boxing weight and fight as a Super Middleweight.
Herrera may have good power, but the shot that toppled Williams was not a power shot, just a good scoring hook, an attention getter at best. Herrera is a decent fighter, but Williams is glassy. He got lucky, a real top tier cruiser would've hurt him bad.
Exactly. If Williams had decent punch resistance, he wouldn't have gotten starched by such a glancing blow, and from a lighter-weight fighter at that. One thing no one can doubt is that Ding has a great chin. Herrera's chances hover between slim and none, and much closer to none.:yep
I was shocked Herrera KO'ed Williams, but he is a hard puncher. He KO'ed Jorge Fernando Castro who has a great chin. However he looked bad against Tavoris Cloud who was a light heavy, who made him miss alot and when he hit him he couldn't hurt him. He ended up gettin knocked out in that fight so I was shocked he knocked out Williams.
