Dirells Uncle/Trainer says pulling out of SuperSix a possibility

This is unfortunate news.

Goosen is a ****. Even Ward wants the fight on neutral ground. And you can't blame Dirrell or Gary Shaw for wanting the fight on neutral ground.

I think the fight would be better suited to MSG than Vegas but either would suffice.

Let's hope the fight gets made soon.

 

Ward should take his belt on the road and fight Dirrel in Detroit. Froch and Kessler both have taken their belts to hostile territory. Why should it be any different for Ward? A lot of people on this site are cutting him a lot of slack and saying neutral territory is ok for this fight. The **** it is. He should quit his ****ing whining and fight on similar terms as the rest of the participants.

 

Kessler was a fool to fight Ward in his hometown, with his personal referee to allow butting, etc., at first, all three judges were also Wards.

Dirrell faked an injury to get his last fight in Detroit. However, I understand why he would not want to fight Ward in Ward's own home town. Look what happens there, esp. with Ward's personal referee. Look what Goosen did to Cintron! You can't trust Goosen. What if Dirrell were pushed out of ring? He would not be allowed to get back up, and Ward would be declared winner! I can see almost anything happening there. Should be neutral territory,not in Ward's home town and not in Dirrell's either. You have to watch out for referee and judges also. Remember, Ward refused to fight in tournament unless he got "all" his fights in his home town.

 

Remember a while ago when I claimed that they would never fight each other? I don't think they ever planned on it in the first place.

 

I remember, but I don't think it is possible to quit the tournament without getting tangled up in a lengthy lawsuit with Showtime.

fkcin fighters think they're mayweather and think they can call shots. I'm sick of all these fighters who are demanding this and that when they haven't proved ****. Both Pacquiao and Mayweather earned their way to the top. BOxing has taken a turn for the worse now and it needs to stop.

 

I see no problem in this.

First of all - neither of them are seriously considering leaving SS. Everyone who is somebody is in the tourney (with one exception). Rather they are fighting desparately to stay in the tourney.

If Dirrell loses he is out... Does he want out? No of course not - he wants to win so he can stay.

Furthermore, there would be financial issues as well. There are not many big fights waiting outside because everyone is inside. Add to that the demands from Showtime if someone was dumb or coward enough to bail anyway.

Finally, if someone was to withdraw to the mountain and get lost or what not it would not hurt the tourney. The toiurney is about crowning the kind and a coward is not the king. So that is a self disqualification right there. Not a problem - just closer to crowning the king.

This is what happens when people fight in England. That is why the last top American to fight in England was Ali. After being robbed Dirrell is understandably gun shy about the terms of his remaining bouts. The shaky reputation of of Germany, GB, and Montreal in terms of terribly officiated fights will help put the breaks on competitions like this in the future. Hopkins will not fight Pascal in Montreal. He is too smart to take a chance of being beaten on a ludicrous early stoppage.

 

This is a joke. There is little chance you take yourself seriously. I can't imagine any set of circumstances aside from robbery that would prevent Ward from schooling Kessler each and every time they fight. I knew this before the fight and that is why I broke out my checkbook.

 

They got what they needed out of this tournament, which is making a name for themselves. Boxing is a business & it's about making money. No one cares about being the best. They can make some decent paydays fighting twice a year against handpicked opponents & throw in an occasional big fight every now & then.

 

He himself is an infamous joke. You just have to get used to the guy. He's unstoppable.

Don't no why you would think the UK, Germany or Monteal ?) have shaky reputations, but the US is the capital of dodgy officiating these days.
