same thing i'm thinking, give him one of those "WWF Super Regular Emeritus" titles....that should make him happy
no, i think a contender just has to do better then the champion....and most people believe he did but thats an old topic and another story
I'll back Dirrell on this. He should demand both a rematch, and an investigation of the referee. Froch should have been disqualified. Since when do you get 7 warnings without a points deduction?
Neither guy did enough to really "stand out" and while the referee was bad, it wasn't anything we haven't seen worse of in different places. Dirrell was at times flat out running and Froch should've had points docked for some of the more blatant rough house tactics. I had the fight scored for Froch the first time I watched it. The 2nd time, I was more generous on Dirrel's "ring generalship" and had him winning the fight. I'm not going to subject myself to that fight again.
Neither guy really did enough to say that they deserved the duke. It's one of those situations where a draw is applicable...but it would've probably killed the tournament then and there.
I give you props for making it through it twice. I realized how lucky I am when my girlfriend didn't make me sleep on the couch after having her watch that fight with me. As for Dirrell seeking the rematch, I have no problem at all with it...what worries me is that he needs to be 100% focused on Abraham and the longer the Froch fight gets dwelled on, the bigger disadvantage that puts Andre at. There's a time and a place for the rematch, and Dirrell needs to remember he could well get another crack at Froch in the tournament, but he's got to take care of the sizable and immediate threat of Abraham first.
They could have the rematch in January/Feb and Froch can fight KEssler in May/June, Kessler is busy until November anyway
disagree, Dirrel on cleaner punching and better ring generalship Froch was aggressive but....he didn't really do anything other then rabbit punching
It took place on my birthday. All I remember is sitting there, slightly buzzed and completely annoyed wondering "How do you find a way to make Carl Froch look THIS boring?" Even from a freakshow standpoint Froch is entertaining. This was just bad. Agreed. If Dirrell is really that worried about the Froch fight, he should just drop out of the tournament and wait for it to finish up and build himself up to mando championship status. He's only going to severly damage himself if he sits around dreaming about Carl Froch and not putting all his attention on the next fight. Then again, maybe we're jumping to conclusions here. Maybe he is fully focused and only mentioning a Froch rematch in passing.
Man I don't know about ring generalship. I think we may differ on the definition of ring generalship. I didn't see Dirrel win this fight...but I didn't really see Froch win it either. It was like a stalemate of ineptitude.
There is a good chance Froch won't even be the WBC Champion by the end of the tournament. Dumb move. :roflatsch
I agree. Obviously he feels cheated...but he really is distracting himself from his next fight. And that ain't good.
if he's taken his eyes of King Arthur, he aint gonna b alive to force a rematch. And anyway Froch got Kessler next which he'll prob lose. Typical yank thinking he can force whatever he wants. Im behind the King all the way!
