It was late, But i think Dirrell milked it. AA had started coming on in the preceding round. and the last 2 would have been interesting. But Arthur has only himself to blame, he shouldnt have hit him whilst being down.
watch the video. During his "convulsions" he is able to turn himself on his side without assistance. He shouldnt consciously be able to do such a thing while convulsing as any voluntary movement is disabled.
Yeah but not the point.......the punch was very late and he was sitting on the ground.....easy DQ IMO
Agree with all kel. Total Act. I think we're disappointed we didn't get 2 see the last 2 rounds being played out bc the tide was turning. Credit to AA for acknowledging he was behind on points. Might have ended up Dirrell winning by points which is fair enough but he took the easy option in my opinion. Watching the stream live I thought he was faking, watching the replays confirms this.
That ref is a ****ing disgrace and should never ref again. To blatantly not rule that punch from AA a knockdown in round 9 was ****ing robbery. Even Stevie Wonder could have seen that was a clear as day KD.
I most people who are saying that Direll faked it arent necessarily saiying it because they are anti Direll or trying to justify AA's actions. People call what they see and it was obviously fake. Yes the punch was late, and everyone saw it, including the ref, and rather than putting up this whole act he should have gotten up. If the ref was any good he woulda give Direll time to recover from the blow and deducted a point from AA. Then we would have been able to see the last 2 rounds!
Yeah that would have been best for boxing....but what does the ref's rule book say about a late punch while the other fighter is sitting on the ground? I like both fighters mate so Iall 'm trying to understand is was the ref in the right calling the DQ.....or did he only call the DQ because AD couldnt continue? This content is protected
exactly. There will always be a question mark. How intentional was the hit? How hard was the hit really? was it just a brush? Was Direll Faking it? Did the ref call for DQ because of the act? AA's punch was wrong no doubt. But I also believe AA when he says his only target in his eyes was Dirells head and didnt pay attention to feet or whether the knee had made contact with the ground. But as you and I know, as of late we've had very few decisions that have been good for boxing. Im getting rather sick of it to be honest...
This is the bit I dont believe mate.....AA threw the punch below the waist mate at groin level.....when ever you throw a punch from that low it's never going to land above the waist.....AA knew that???
aa threw the punch while he was on the ground, whether dirrell milked it is irrelevant, it was a DQable offence - big call though
was he faking was he for real doesnt matter.he hit a man on the ground.he was losing.didnt see it to be honest but the DQ sounds justified.Abraham did a Dibb.
