    2 Threads in 1.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Firstly.
Boxing News Thursday 18th Nov 10. Whispers section.
Super six casualty Andre Dirrell is looking to return in March.

First off, Its good to read that Dirrell must be feeling better, which is great news.
I thought any fighter who pulled out of the Super 6 couldnt fight until after the tournament had finished.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Second.
Andre Ward must be the luckiest fighter to enter the Super 6 -
    1. Gets his first fight against an unwell double vision suffering Kessler,
    2. Gets A Green as his 2nd opponent, a fighter who had been beaten by Miranda
    3. Gets his first 3 fights at home
    4. Gets awarded 2 points for Dirrell pulling out
    5. Had Dirrell pull out of fighting him
    6. Gets to fight Bika next, who has already been exposed at the highest level.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
What does everyone make of the Dirrell and Ward situations?
Dirrells posible March come back and how Ward has had such an easier run in the Super 6 compared to say Froch and Abraham having fought away 2 out of 3 times each etc.

    So what do you think?

I think Dirrell is a **** if he fights in March and clearly ducked Ward, AA & Froch. I dont see where he goes to be honest.

I think Ward has had the scales tipped in his favor, but is clearly a good fighter. But not the red hot favorite everyone is making him out to be. He has one good win and that is tainted cause in another place those headbutts would be called intentional.

I think Dirrell knows Ward would whoop him. Ward has more to lose against Dirrell than vice versa. Undefeated record, WBA title... yet we didn't see him pull out of the fight.

Ward is a good fighter. He has home advantage which makes him even more dangerous.

Hopefully the semis and finals will be on neutral ground.

Andre is real lucky he got the fights in his hometown but i am sure its because he can draw decent sized crowds (gold medal) AND THE OPPONENTS MANGERS agreed to it before the comp started, so they only hav theirselves to blame.

I have no idea why he got those points he did not need them, maybe they see wrd as a top dog and want to make him appeaer as astnd out head and shouldersabove everyone.

Bika is not an easy fight h is as rough house an dirty as anyone could expect.

dirrels symptoms must be clearing up, he is still allowed light training so he can stay active, it wouldnt make sense lounging around and not doing anything up until march.:deal

If hes training for a fight in March, hes definately doing something. It seems a bit strange that he couldnt fight Ward due to illness, but now there is talk of him fighting in March. I read he hadnt begun training for Ward, but if he is fighting in March, will be training for that fight. Its all a bit odd.
Shame about the Super 6, but the main thing and most important thing is that Dirrell must be feeling better, which is a fantastic thing, and far more important than any competition

    :nono

He will be doing everything apart from sparring or anything that will give him a head rush, at least that is what common sense tells me.

Have you got a link about him fighting in march and who is it going to be?

I think they are saying they hope symptoms are clear by march and will push for that date rather than they have it all set in stone.

Both Andre Ward and Andre Dirrell were lucky they came along in an era of unathletic, limited skilled Europeans.

If they had come around during the era of Roy Jones and James toney they'd be in trouble.

Very lucky to come along when they did. I the era of Roy Jones and James Toney they would have been up against fighters who are now known PEDs cheats and would have lost to fighters like Eubank, Collins, Benn & McClellen. If they had come around after that, they would have been brutally exposed by either Calzaghe, Ottke, Beyer or a fit and well Kessler, but I doubt they would have got that far as their countryman Lacy

Kessler, Ottke, and Beyer are scrubs. Kessler beat Beyer and Ward clowned Kessler like he was nothing. He beat a bunch of german cab drivers, he never fought an athletic American and got exposed for the inferior athlete he is. Ward was stronger, faster and tougher.

As for Eubanks, Benn and Collins. B level fighters. Collins got schooled by MacCallum who ROy Jones made easy work of. Ben was getting his ass beat by McClellan before he started to rabbit punch him till he was ******ed. As to why you never fight in England.

Calzaghe was the only decently skilled European of the bunch.
