You say he's been blackballed. What is your source?

Showtime has a clause tying an injured
figurer when he comes back. Dirrell-Bute may be in the works

You DO realize the precedent you're setting, right? "Sign contracts, then once the network you signed with builds you up, fight them for more money before you've even honoured the contract you signed." Ya, that's a GREAT way to "get good fights". No, people should have to follow through on contracts they sign.

In your fantasy world, this is a one-off event and Dirrell comes back and puts on great fights for the fans and it never happens again. In reality, if Showtime lets fighters jerk them around by signing contracts then backing out and demanding more money, they'll lose all credibility - and businesses with no credibility go out of business or stop working in the industry that is ****ed up. In other words, they'd be going down a road that would eventually see Showtime abandon boxing.

I realize you probably don't understand where business starts and where it ends, but this is the reality.

Unless Showtime is happy to delay the Dirrell-Ward fight...

Bute's scheduled to fight in March and although Dirrell will certainly want a tune up fight before taking on Bute, Showtime should put Andre on the under card of Bute's next fight in order to set up a fight between them a few months later !

I've been saying Dirrell vs bute could be a possibility when Bute signed the new contract. Now it's looking to come together. They know Bute was sitting at the finished line for the S6 winner. It's almost like they expanded the tourney to have Bute Finally fight someone.

As for the fight, I would go with Dirrell by UD or Late Stoppage. He would absolutely have Bute Dumbfounded and reluctant to swing, when he sees skills, handspeed, footspeed and reflexes that are greater than his own.

I think Froch will get badly rattled by a big shot at some point in the fight, but I think Froch beats Abraham and wouldnt be surprised at all if Froch wins inside the distance

If they just give in to Dirrell's demands as the person I was responding to suggested, they set a bad precedent.

I agree with you but I would not be surprised if Showtime was involved at some point in that story.

If Dirrell does fight Bute around this time, and its a big if. Then I think it would be very wrong as he had signed for the S6, would have pulled out of the S6 on injury and then talks of coming back before his then next S6 opponent has even fought.

I thought Dr. Shaw High said that Dirrell had to be symptom free for 3 months. It hasn't been even a month. Did Dr. Shaw High perform another miracle?

That was an interesting post. The main important thing is that Dirrell must be feeling better, if he is considering boxing in March
